First eggs of 2024 for me. And it happens to be a species I was really hoping was going to take off this season. 2 clutch of the laying season, and hopefully a bunch of happy Elongated Tortoises coming this year.

This girl didn’t lay last year, and these 2 haven’t bred in about 4 months. After making a complete mess and being together for 6 days, they seem to have figured it out again.

These guys just hatched. I did have one egg go bad very early which is fairly normal. But I had one that died in the egg, probably about a week early and really oddly had one cut the egg multiple times and die in the egg. Weird. I still love these living ones though.

Only one Axanthic and 1 Clown in the clutch. Fortunately they are the same animal. Finally after three years trying to make one of these, I did. I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining, but I sure wish it had penes.

Pardon the messy cage. Just focus on the 2 beauties breeding. This is the first time I have caught my Mixel het T+ breeding. And I think it is the first time I have ever shared a pic of this T+ girl. She is stunning. Hoping for some awesome kids next year.

I didn’t realize this girl was that close. Welcomed surprise and she finally proved to be double het. 4 Opal Diamonds, 2 Sharp Albinos, 2 Bloods and 9 very nice variable possible double hets.

I finally hit some Lavender Snows after 7 clutches of DH x DH over 4 years. I wish one of them had penes, but at least I got to hatch some. One more clutch due soon.

Also got another clutch of Thayeri, first time mom and I can’t wait to see these babies.

Lastly another set of twins this year. I wasn’t expecting that.

Here is a short video of the first time I have ever caught my Elongated male actually breeding. He does it differently than the Red Foots. I laughed at him for at least 10 minutes.
