Remi does very well in her advanced class with the “regular dogs.” But outside her comfort dogs she struggles with reactivity. We tried the calming cap today and although it’s not a miracle cure the results were amazing.

Fleur de Lis Dental Care is happy to have Service Dogs accompany patients. Dr. Jorge Aguilar my dentist takes great care of my teeth and my anxiety. I would not go to anyone else for my dental care. He specializes in implants.

It is important to teach dogs to find the stairs if you have a pool. This is Brownie’s first lesson without a life preserver. We’re not finished but he’s made big progress!!!! We have to make sure given any way that he falls in he can recover, not panic and turn to swim for the steps.

WE are allowed to come back to St Margaret’s with masks. We will have classes Tuesday night.

St Margaret’s has a Covid outbreak and we are not allowed to come for dog school. Hopefully by next weekend the crisis will be over. You can attend the JCC classes in the meantime. I do plan on having a puppy kindergarten class Tuesday night at JCC METAIRIE at 7 with JCC’s permission. I will ask first thing Monday morning. Ada did get Covid. Paul did not get Covid. If you love to cook and can drop off some sick food to Ada and Paul I would appreciate it. All the residents are confined to their rooms.

As an owner of a couple anxious dogs myself, I will share this every year.

Quick PSA: During the Fourth of July holiday, and the days leading it up to it when folks start celebrating with noisy fireworks, scores of pets run away from the sights and sounds, making the day after Independence Day the busiest of the year for animal hospitals and shelters. Please do your due diligence. And if you feel as though your pet may need medication to help them relax during firework season, now is the time to speak with your veterinarian!
