To ensure that each and every animal adopted has love, food, vet care and shelter and never has to endure abuse again! PLEASE NOTE: I have emigrated, and therefore am no longer able to foster or help people rehome animals anymore. All the information written below are standard adoption rules and regulations that apply to most shelters. If you wish to adopt any animal, please contact the shelter di
rectly, and if you still have a problem, then please inbox me on this page, and I will still try my best to help you. Rules of Adoption:
1) House checks are carried out. This is to see if your home is a suitable one for animals to be raised in
2) Vaccinations and deworming are given before the animal is adopted out.
3) Sterilzation is compulsary! If the adopted animal is less than 6 months old, you sign a contract and are bound by it to return with that animal at 6 months to have it sterilized. BREEDING IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4) Dogs are not allowed to be adopted as security/guard dogs. All animals are adopted as family pets only.
5) Because we have a strict " family pet " policy and what with the country that we live in with burgelars poisoning and shooting dogs that sleep outside - All animals that are adopted must sleep inside. No matter what size your dog is, they should be allowed inside the house!!!! We don't expect them to sleep in your bed, but a sheltered closed in sleeping environment at night is what we expect.
6) All animals that are adopted need to be given fresh food and fresh water daily
7) All animals that are adopted need to be given love and TLC
8) All animals that are adopted need to be given veterinary care should they become sick! We expect our rescues to be made part of the family!!!!! ADOPTION FEES
Some shelters have an adoption fee. Some are R100 per pet some are R600 per pet. The adoption fee basically covers the vaccs, deworming, sterilization and microchip. For interest sake, a rough figure just to sterilize at a private vet ( excluding vaccinations and microchip ) is usually between R1000 - R1500 for a small breed dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We do not put these rules in place to upset or offend anyone. We have to do it and if you go to any shelter anywhere in the world, you will find that they carry out more or less the same regulations. Remember there are scummy people out there which is why we have shelters to begin with and why we are here trying to home them.
