Urgent and a warning ‼️ Last photo shows a puppy with a severely injured eye. Thus the reason for this post. This was a family that we were also looking for yesterday for Thanksgiving but we could not find them! They had disappeared from this spot and were no where to be found.
We hoped another rescue had gotten there before us and moved on.
Well thanks to the dedication of our friend .sd she found them today! After 2 days of searching she found them.
They are covered in mange, ticks and fleas and the little puppy in the last pic needs her eye out first thing in the mornings. She’s on heavy pain meds now and will go in for surgery in the am.
Please help!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our fearless leader, NIKKI!! Nikki started Mutt Scouts 20 years ago and because of her thousands of lives, human and dog, have been forever changed. To know her is to love her and know a gaggle of dogs will always be surrounding her. She works every minute of every day caring for the sickest dogs, the ones who need the most love, and we are sooo grateful to do this work by her side. Popcorn (fka Dobby) was being sold in the back of a truck with her mom and sister in Tijuana when one of our rescuers stumbled across them. We agreed to take all and quickly found out both puppies had Parvo. The smaller of the two quickly lost her battle but Popcorn put up a fight and against all odds, survived. She went to foster, got healthy and we are sooo happy to share on this was adopted by a wonderful family. We are so grateful to have been part of her journey and thank everyone who donated to her parvo care. She wouldn’t have survived without!!

Welcome Home Wednesday!!!!
Welcome Home Jacob!

Jacob has been with us for over a year and this year was finally his time to shine! ✨ He went to an amazing foster family that didn’t intend on adopting a senior pup but they opened their hearts to him regardless. And Jacob made himself right at home. When he first arrived Jacob had been timid and a bit fearful of people, but with patience, love and consistency he blossomed into a happy connected dog. His new mom is truly his soulmate and he adores his new dad who takes him for short walks and little runs. He even loves his foster sister, who snuggles with him, keeps him company, and is always trying to get him to play. Happy ending like these are what make all the difficult days worth it. So congrats to Jacob and his wonderful family on their happily ever after.

We’ll be at Muddy Paw with our friends this Saturday with cute adoptable friends! Sonia, Freya and Milky Way are all available through and will require an application on their website and home check. Chulo, Bruno and Lily are available via with an application via our website and home check. We’ll have several more dogs that aren’t listed here that we will share as the week goes on! Be prepared for LOTS OF CUTENESS with dogs of all sizes and ages!

Rosemary aka Rosie is in need of a foster (or foster to adopt). This girl gave birth right after we rescued her and has been tending to her babies but… she’s over motherhood. She is ready to be free of her babies and start the rest of HER life! She is a total doll and soo sweet with people and other dogs. She is likely around 2 years old. This sassy smart firecracker is just under a year old and has been waiting for a family for far too long! Judy is a cattle dog so she has all the normal energy and behaviors that come with that. She’s an absolutely amazing dog and needs a temporary foster for the month of DECEMBER or an ADOPTER!
