We're all excited that Winter Activities are back, but what exactly ARE they anyway? Broadly speaking, they're a great way to give your dog mental and physical exercise during the cold winter months.

Specifically, let's talk about PRIVATE PLAYS! This is private space rental at our facility! The room is all yours for 30 minutes to play, train, and have fun with your dog. All dogs are welcome to schedule these, because the space is all yours!

You may bring a maximum of 3 dogs to your private rental time, from up to 2 different families. Private Plays do NOT include use of agility or other equipment.

“As we turned to go into the house, a strange new feeling came over me. I had a family. And I had found out that sacrifice and friendship and even love were more than just the mushy stuff. At last, for the first time in my life, I was home….. TURKEY!!!! TURKEY TURKEY TURKEY TURKEY!!!”

We’re not crying, you’re crying! 🥹 This scene from Homeward Bound is perfect. It’s the very definition of the love and joy that pets bring to our lives. Of course we are grateful for them, but Chance reminds at the end of the video of just how grateful our pets are for us too.

Your dog isn’t able to verbally thank you today, so allow us to do the honor. You have given your dog a home, but you’ve also given them the love, care, and training that helps them thrive at home. We see you, dog parents. Your pup is grateful for you and so are we.

Specifically, let's talk about PUPPY SOCIAL HOURS! These are supervised playtime sessions that provide a safe, warm, and clean area for young pups to have positive experiences with each other, other people, and their environment. The supervisor is there to enforce the Rules of Play which aid in maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Puppy playtime is for dogs 8 weeks old to 24 weeks old (under 6 months). Participants must be current students, past students, or future students of our Puppy Training and Socialization Class, Puppy Boot Camp program, or Puppy Mini-Course.

Today's question was asked by Melanie: “Sort of the opposite of recall - get my dog to go away from me. Not “backup” or to a “place” just away, with a larger distance between us.”

🔥Teaching your pup about personal space is all about setting boundaries. Both "Back" and "Place" are excellent tools for doing that! The way we teach boundary training in Level 1 is "Back," and it can be used to teach your pup to stay away from you as well. It's hard to explain in the comments so we highly recommend taking that class or doing In-Home Training so that you can get personalized tips for your home environment.
