URGENT: Foster Home Needed in the Cincinnati Area 💔
Through no fault of his own, Simon is losing his foster home. Despite our best efforts in finding him adoptive placement or another foster home, not a single person has shown an interest in Simon. We desperately need a foster or an adopter to welcome Simon into their lives!
Simon a 2.5 years old Coonhound who weighs approximately 65 pounds. He's a GOOD BOY, but he's a high energy pup! His ideal home is one willing to take him on long walks a couple of times a day, one that will provide structure and training, and one that may even let him use his hound dog nose through mental enrichment. He is both house and crate trained, and gets along well with older kids (he likes to jump!) and dogs. Simon would thrive with another high energy canine companion who loves to play, but no cats for Simon please, as he loves a good chase!

During the month of August, we're celebrating fostering every day, but specifically celebrating our partnerships with local shelters. Today, we'd like to you meet Umbra!
Umbra, a one year old Standard Poodle, was pulled from one of our local shelters- she arrived to the shelter as a stray: she was a matted mess, severely underweight, and was incredibly scared and fearful at the shelter. One of our wonderful fosters agreed to take her in, and has slowly worked magic with her.
Foster care has provided Umbra with something she wouldn't be able to get had she stayed at the shelter: one-on-one attention and care. Umbra's foster has been hard at work with her on things like socialization, learning manners, and all in all helping her become the best pup she can be! This is what fostering does: it gives dogs like Umbra a second chance and helps them become more adoptable in the process.

The response was overwhelming! Sarah and her husband, who have a special connection to Louie's Legacy as former fosters (and foster fails!), have generously collected three giant Chewy boxes filled with toys and treats, several bags of food, and a few other goodies.

Lima is a 5-month-old, 30 lb Hound Mix who loves kisses, cuddles, and being close to her people.
This sweetheart is a fast learner, picking up commands like sit, down, and paw on her first day in foster care. Lima is a bit unsure about things that go "Vroom" but absolutely loves trips to the park.

Update: Great News About Trio! 🐾
We have exciting news about Trio, our brave tripod Boston Terrier puppy. After discovering severe congenital defects in his front elbows, we were unsure about his future. Thanks to your support, Trio has undergone medical evaluations, and his prognosis is good! Although he won’t walk normally, the doctors are optimistic that Trio’s legs will be pain-free.
Trio is unfortunately not a candidate for surgery, but he does have some options to maintain his current level of mobility. The next step in Trio's treatment plan is a set of custom non-jointed leg braces to stabilize his elbows, costing approximately $1,000. He will also need a custom-fitted wheelchair once he finishes growing.

We have exciting news about Trio, our brave tripod Boston Terrier puppy!🐾 Trio arrived into our care after having his leg bitten off a few days after birth, and we soon discovered that his front elbows were both dislocated due to a congenital deformity. Thanks to your support, Trio has undergone medical evaluations, and his prognosis is good! Although he won’t ever walk normally, the doctors are optimistic that Trio’s legs will be pain-free, and that he can live a normal life as a special-needs dog. ❤️ Trio is unfortunately not a candidate for surgery, but he does have some options to maintain his current level of mobility. The next step in Trio's treatment plan is a set of custom non-jointed leg braces to stabilize his elbows, costing approximately $1,000. He will also need a custom-fitted wheelchair once he finishes growing. Your continued support can provide Trio with the equipment he needs to stay mobile. Help Trio's Road to Recovery! Trio is our most recent arrival: a 12-week-old Boston Terrier rescued from a puppy mill. When he arrived, we knew right away that something was wrong. Though we knew he was missing a hind limb, we soon realized that he was not walking normally. Instead of walking on his feet, Trio was crawling on his front elbows. When Trio was brought to the vet to determine the cause of the problem, his x-rays were shocking. His front ulnas are bilaterally dislocated from the elbow joint, and his humerus is badly bowed and deformed. This is what’s causing his walk—he has minimal to no use of his elbows. We booked him the soonest appointment we could at an orthopedic vet for a specialty consultation. We don’t yet know what Trio’s treatment plan will look like, but it is likely to include at least a few orthopedic consults. It is also possible that he’ll need surgery, additional therapies, or other life-saving measures to ensure his quality of life. Right now, we’re raising funds to be prepared for whatever his course of treatment may be. We’re planning on updating once we know for sure Trio’s prognosis and his treatment plan, but for now, help us help Trio! Despite our immediate action and vet visits, Bourbon's health took a turn for the worse, leaving him lame and in excruciating pain. A diagnosis of suspected septic arthritis confirmed our fears. Bourbon is only three months old, and yet he's already endured so much. But he's not alone. With your support, we're giving him the specialized care and comfort he deserves in his foster home.
