🐾 Exciting News! 🐾

We’re thrilled to share that PEDIGREE Foundation awarded Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue a $15,000 grant to support our efforts in transporting, rescuing, and placing animals from overcrowded shelters into loving foster homes throughout the coming year!

Every day, shelters across the country face heartbreaking overcrowding, leaving countless pets at risk. Thanks to this incredible grant, we’ll be able to save even more lives by providing these animals with a second chance in foster care and, ultimately, forever homes.

This grant will help us cover the costs of critical transport, medical care, and placement for dogs and cats who deserve the chance to thrive. 🐶🐱

Meet Elsa & Olaf – Our Very Own Frozen Duo! ❄️

Hi, I’m Elsa! 👑
I’m a 5-month-old, 4-pound snow-white kitten with a heart as warm as summer (despite my icy name 😉). I’m a pro at purring, love lap snuggles, and enjoy gazing out the window from my favorite cat tree. My hobbies include chasing toys, cuddling, and being the sweetest little princess in the kingdom. 💙

And this is my brother, Olaf! ☃️
Olaf is 5 months old, 4 pounds, and just as white and fluffy as a fresh snowstorm! He’s an expert wrestler (his brothers will tell you), a toy-chasing champion, and an aspiring litter box assistant. But his favorite thing? Snuggling up for lap time and purring up a storm. ❤️

We’re both being fostered in Cincinnati and can’t wait to find our forever castles. Between December 1st and 17th, thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters campaign, part of our adoption fees are sponsored! You can take us home for just $25 each!

Urgent: Kitten Hospitalized with Suspected Panleukopenia 💔

We know our community has been incredibly generous lately, but rescue never sleeps, and we need your help now more than ever. Meet Gingerbread, a tiny fighter, battling for his life against Feline Panleukopenia, a deadly and extremely contaigous virus. Two of his siblings, Shortbread and Molasses, have tragically passed away, and his remaining siblings, Spritz and Linzer, are at risk.

Gingerbread has been hospitalized, and his medical team is cautiously optimistic. But his care comes at a steep cost, and we need your help to save him.

💔 Emergency care, including evalution and fluids: $700
💔 Current hospitalization: $2,500–$3,300

We’ve already paid a $2,500 deposit to save Gingerbread's life, but we urgently need your support to cover the rest of his care. Your donation could be the reason Gingerbread gets to grow up healthy and loved.

OH Bissell Adoption Events 12/7

We have two adoption events this weekend in the Midwest packed full of super cute adoptables ready to meet you! Thanks to the BISSELL Pet Foundation, several of our pets have reduced adoption fees through December 17th!

Saturday from 11am-1pm @ Eastgate PetSmart 650 Eastgate South Drive, Cincinnati, OH

Saturday from 11am-1pm @ Western Hills PetSmart 6068 Glenway Ave, Cincinnati, OH

**Please note that for same day adoptions, you must be at least 21 years old and the following is needed at the event:
-Valid Photo I.D.
-Leash or carrier to bring your pet home
-Copy of building pet policy if you’re a renter
-If you are a current or former pet owner, a copy of vet records that state that your resident pet is or was up to date on all vaccines and preventatives, as well as proof of neuter/spay
-All family members in the home and resident dogs must be present at the event

We so desperately want Dora to find her forever home! Meet Dora, a sweet 8-month-old Shepherd mix. Dora had a super rough start to life, being found in an abandoned dumpster and then spending months on the run in Staten Island before we were able to catch her. However, Dora has finally left those days behind and is now living her best life full of snuggles, treats, and love. ❤️ Dora is not just adorable—she’s incredibly smart too! She’s already mastered crate training and house training, with zero accidents in foster care. She’s the perfect work-from-home buddy (though does incredibly well while her foster mom works outside of home) and a true explorer at heart. 🐾 Dora loves long walks around the neighborhood, eagerly sniffing out new scents and making new friends—both human and furry! Her foster family can’t stop raving about how well-behaved she is. Dora stays quietly in her crate when needed, sleeps soundly through the night, and enjoys the company of her four-legged foster sister. We have exciting news about Trio, our brave tripod Boston Terrier puppy!🐾 Trio arrived into our care after having his leg bitten off a few days after birth, and we soon discovered that his front elbows were both dislocated due to a congenital deformity. Thanks to your support, Trio has undergone medical evaluations, and his prognosis is good! Although he won’t ever walk normally, the doctors are optimistic that Trio’s legs will be pain-free, and that he can live a normal life as a special-needs dog. ❤️ Trio is unfortunately not a candidate for surgery, but he does have some options to maintain his current level of mobility. The next step in Trio's treatment plan is a set of custom non-jointed leg braces to stabilize his elbows, costing approximately $1,000. He will also need a custom-fitted wheelchair once he finishes growing. Your continued support can provide Trio with the equipment he needs to stay mobile. Help Trio's Road to Recovery! Trio is our most recent arrival: a 12-week-old Boston Terrier rescued from a puppy mill. When he arrived, we knew right away that something was wrong. Though we knew he was missing a hind limb, we soon realized that he was not walking normally. Instead of walking on his feet, Trio was crawling on his front elbows. When Trio was brought to the vet to determine the cause of the problem, his x-rays were shocking. His front ulnas are bilaterally dislocated from the elbow joint, and his humerus is badly bowed and deformed. This is what’s causing his walk—he has minimal to no use of his elbows. We booked him the soonest appointment we could at an orthopedic vet for a specialty consultation. We don’t yet know what Trio’s treatment plan will look like, but it is likely to include at least a few orthopedic consults. It is also possible that he’ll need surgery, additional therapies, or other life-saving measures to ensure his quality of life. Right now, we’re raising funds to be prepared for whatever his course of treatment may be. We’re planning on updating once we know for sure Trio’s prognosis and his treatment plan, but for now, help us help Trio!
