Meet little Benelli! She is a 12 week-old 12 lb cattle dog/blue heeler mix. Benelli is blind, but she doesn't let that stop her! She runs at the world at full speed, and plays and loves just like any puppy. She adores dogs and children and one of her favorite games at the moment is dragging her little bed back and forth around a room (why, who knows, but it's cute!)

Things like stairs are still scary to Benelli, but she's starting to learn how to take them on too! Benelli loves snuggling into you as close as possible, and clearly loves having people she can trust close by.

Due to Benelli's needs and as she is still learning to navigate the world without her vision, she will need a family who is willing to be patient and understanding with her.

Dog seems nervous in the kennel by staying away with a tense body and tucked tail as I entered the kennel. I sat in the kennel for a bit and she was able to adjust. Dog displayed sociability by coming over for treats and chin scratches with a tense body.
Nervous behavior may be due to environment.

Boo has a fractured right rostral mandible with lateral displacement and some necrosis. She also has superficial abrasions on her limbs. She is receiving anti-inflammatories and is eating, but slowly and with assistance.

Boo needs rescue commitment & pickup by cob (6 pm) Thursday 10/24 in order to avoid humane euthanasia.
