🦷 As vets, we know just how important daily brushing is for pets—periodontal disease is linked to kidney disease, heart disease, and chronic inflammation. Yikes.

But let’s be real—busy pet parents + pets who are not thrilled about brushing? A daily challenge 💁‍♀️

👉 Swipe for some practical tips to help pet parents keep their fur baby’s teeth healthy at home!

✨ And here’s the really exciting part...while traditional dental care focuses on plaque and tartar, newer approaches aim to balance the oral microbiome for better long-term health (yay science! 🧪✨).

This means pet parents can do so much to support dental health between professional cleanings that doesn’t involve a toothbrush! 🐶🐈🐾

Here are my go-to favorites that I wholeheartedly recommend:

🦷 Adored Beast Love Bugs @

(And thank you for that amazing recipe!)

🦷 1-TDC (1-TetraDecanol Complex) @

🦷 Teef Water Additive @

🦷 Pet Wellbeing Healthy Gums @

🦷 Four Legger Dental Powder @

🦷 Ozone therapy for gingivitis @ O3Vets

💡 Quick reminder: Please remind your pet parents to avoid toothpastes with surfactants, artificial flavors, and harmful ingredients like xylitol or other artificial sweeteners as they can be toxic to pets ☠️

Now, I’d LOVE to hear from you! What are your favorite dental care hacks for your patients?

Do you have a super itchy pet patient?

The root cause could be in their gut 🦠

A lot of our dogs and cats live modern lifestyles that include kibble, vaccines, and antibiotics—all of which negatively impact the microbiome…

(Note: I'm not saying we don’t need medication sometimes. We just have to be mindful of potential side effects.)

AND here’s the thing, our pet patients often weren’t born with a thriving microbiome either…

It depends on the lifestyles of the past five generations 🤯

Their mother, their grandmother, their great-grandmother, their great-great-grandmother, and their great-great-great-grandmother…🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕

And a disrupted microbiome is very often the cause of allergies, chronic skin infections, and a whole list of other issues—immune system dysregulation, arthritis, chronic gastrointestinal issues… new research is even showing a link between microbiome imbalances and cancer.

That’s why I want every vet in the world to know how to accurately test their pet patients’ microbiome, so…

I put together a step-by-step guide to make it simple and stress-free 💁‍♀️

In this guide, you’ll discover…

✨ How to test different microbiomes with confidence

✨ Which pets truly need testing (so you never miss a case)

✨ The labs I trust to give the best insights

✨ A clear, easy way to interpret dysbiosis using my dysbiosis index

Drop METHOD in the comments, and I’ll send it your way! 💖🦄

Amidst all the heaviness in the world right now, I find myself leaning into the little moments of beauty. 🌸✨

Sunsets are some of my best things in life, everywhere I go, every chance I get, and it’s sunset time, I’m looking out.

And every now and then, there’s one so stunning it feels like the universe is giving us a sign that what we want to manifest is on it’s way 💛

Wherever you are, I’m wishing you a sunsets that fill your heart with hope and remind you that beauty still exists—one moment, one day at a time. ☀️💖

Here’s what being in partnership with my pet parents means to me…

It means I take the time to listen to them (our appointments run 30 mins to 1 hour).

It means I listen to their ideas about what might be going on for their pet.

It means I discuss all the options with them and they get to decide what route they want to take.

I really feel this is a big part of what makes me “the Unicorn Vet” 💖🦄

As we approach the start of a brand-new year, I want to remind you to believe—really believe—in your biggest, boldest dreams. 🌟

For so many of us, the world has taught us to “Be realistic,” and we’ve learned to not dream too big.

But lately, I’ve been leaning into something different. I’m learning to trust—trust in the Universe, trust in the magic of manifestation (shoutout to my wonderful coach Catchy Heller 🪄), and trust in myself.

I’m doing the inner work and I’m in the process of embracing my BIGGEST goals.

So, this coming year, 2025, let’s give ourselves permission to dream without limits 💫

This might be a little controversial…

So someone left a comment on my podcast episode about spay and neuter saying that the dangers of pyometra (uterus infection) meant leaving it was too risky to leave girl dogs intact.

Watch if you want to hear my response 💁‍♀️

And I actually appreciate that they gave me an opportunity to talk about this because I think it’s a conversation we need to have more as vets 💜

High doses of vitamin C and mistletoe can actually kill cancer cells.

They tend to have far less side effects than traditional chemo.

And they can also be done at the same time as Chemo under the guidance on a holistic oncologist 💜

You want to start cancer prevention the day you bring your puppy or kitten home 💁‍♀

This looks like…

👉 feeding them a fresh food diet

👉 giving them filtered or spring water

👉 taking care of their microbiome

Comment 101 and we’ll send you our Microbiome 101 Video 🦠✨
