Wow! Today was a really powerful day. So much knowledge. So many topics. It covered a lot of aspects in both business and personal for us.

Some of you may wonder why I even bothered attending a pet sitting conference when I recently announced that I’m scaling my business back to part time and taking on a new full time position. To you I say, continuing education is never a waste of time. I’m not completely closing my business. I also fully intend to stay an active member of the industry, my local pet sitting network and mentoring new pet sitters. Plus I learned things I can apply to my new position. All good things! All things that continue to increase my value as a pet professional, an entrepreneur, an employee and a person.

I have good news! Saw the orthopedist today. He said my knee sprain has actually healed fast & seems fine. The swelling in the ankle & foot, as well as the numbness in my leg, are all completely normal considering what happened. He has me taking Aleve twice a day for the next week & continuing to MagnaWave & ice the knee, ankle & shin. And he wants me to still take it easy on walking too much for the next week. He gave me a steroid injection in my knee to bring down the inflammation, and he gave me knee strengthening exercises to do for the next 6 weeks. He encouraged me to continue them to keep my knees strong. And he said I don’t need a brace anymore as long as I don’t do anything stupid. 😆

There is no 5 second rule because it’s never there that long…if it even hits the ground.

Please check surface temperatures before walking your dog. And each surface will be different. You can get a surface thermometer like mine for $10 to $30. Carry it with you to be safe. If you can’t hold the palm of your hand or your bare foot on the surface, comfortably, for a full 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog!!!
