Raider was originally a MACC dog who later joined Unbreakabull as an owner surrender because he was deteriorating in a home with other dogs and had a hard time regulating his emotions. When his owner realized they could no longer manage Raider’s needs, they reached out to every rescue they could think of, only to be turned down each time. After countless “nos,” they finally heard a “yes” from Unbreakabull.

Raider completed a board-and-train program, and after staying in boarding for two months, he finally found a wonderful foster home. So far, Raider’s care has cost a total of $4,000, including training and boarding, but his transformation has been worth every penny. Raider has been loving life in his foster home and is an incredibly fun, athletic, and loving boy who is on the hunt for his forever home.

Raider is now ready for his forever home, and we’re asking for your help today on Give to the Max Day to ensure that dogs like Raider continue to get the second chances they deserve.

Your donation today will go directly toward helping dogs like Raider. Please consider making a donation to help Raider and many more dogs get the fresh start they deserve: https://www.givemn.org/story/0ainif

Oliver came to us after a heartbreaking case of abuse. At just 7 months old, he came from a situation where he had been beaten. When Oliver arrived at MACC, he was in unimaginable pain — mentally dull, with soft tissue swelling on his forehead and not using his back leg. His injuries were severe: multiple skull fractures and a fractured hip that required immediate medical attention.

Oliver needed FHO surgery, which came with a hefty price tag of $1,800, not including his other medical needs. But we didn’t hesitate to give him the care he desperately needed. The road to recovery was long, but Oliver’s resilience and sweet spirit shone through. He healed physically and emotionally, and today, we’re thrilled to announce that Oliver has been adopted into his forever home!

Today, we ask for your help on Give to the Max Day to continue giving second chances to dogs like Oliver. Your generous donation will go directly to providing urgent medical care, surgeries, and rehabilitation to dogs in need.

Please consider donating today to support Oliver’s journey and help more dogs get the chance they deserve: https://www.givemn.org/story/0ainif

Not too long ago, Curie was facing euthanasia at MACC due to behavioral challenges, especially resource guarding. Her story is all too familiar for dogs who have been starved, chained, and abandoned for most of their lives. When Curie first arrived at animal control, she was severely emaciated, with overgrown nails, urine-stained fur, and a rusty chain around her neck. The first image is hard to look at, but the second one shows Curie today – warm, safe, and thriving in her loving foster home.

Curie has made incredible progress. Thanks to everyone who supported her journey including her amazing trainer, she’s learned basic obedience, crate training, and how to settle comfortably in her environment. Most importantly, Curie has made tremendous strides in overcoming her resource-guarding behaviors, and she hasn’t displayed any of these behaviors with her fosters. Since she is now at a healthy weight, she was able to be spayed and is officially up for adoption!

Today on Give to the Max Day, we ask for your support in continuing to say “yes” to dogs like Curie. Your donation, no matter how small, helps us provide dogs in need with the care, training, and second chances they deserve: https://www.givemn.org/story/0ainif

22/11/2024

Shadow’s story is one of many heartbreaks in rescue, but it’s also why it’s so important to continue saying “yes” to dogs in his memory. Shadow was adopted from a local impound but was returned in severe condition, emaciated, and suffering from debilitating diarrhea. He faced a euthanasia deadline and struggled to find rescue placement. It’s hard enough being a black pitbull, but Shadow’s unknown illness and expensive diagnostics made it even harder for rescues to take a risk on him.

We saw something in Shadow – a young dog who deserved a chance at life, no matter the cost. And if we couldn’t save his life, he deserved a peaceful ending – one outside of the cement walls of a loud shelter.

Determined to give Shadow that fighting chance, we brought him into our care and immediately transported him to our veterinary partner for urgent treatment. His medical expenses quickly soared, with more costs expected in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, Shadow's condition was more severe than we could have imagined. Chest x-rays revealed pneumonia, and further exams suggested other serious health concerns like suspected EPI.

Despite our best efforts and the care we gave him, Shadow passed away before he could fully heal. His total care reached $4,500, and though he didn’t get the happy ending we hoped for, we are proud that we gave him the chance to fight for his life and he passed knowing he was loved, probably for the first time in his life.

Shadow’s story is a reminder of how important it is to say “yes” to dogs in need — even when the road ahead is uncertain. Every dog deserves a fighting chance, and while we couldn’t save Shadow in the end, his short time with us was filled with love, care, and the hope that we could help him.

Today, we ask that you consider donating to help us continue saying “yes” to the many other dogs in need. Your donations make it possible for us to take in dogs like Shadow, who need urgent medical care, and give them the best chance for a happy, healthy life.

100% of your donation will go directly to supporting dogs in need. Please help us continue our mission to give local dogs the second chances they deserve: https://www.givemn.org/story/0ainif

Frankie is a sweet 11-year-old senior who was rescued just in time from a local impound earlier this year. Facing euthanasia without a rescue placement, Frankie was given a second chance at life and has been enjoying his golden years in a loving hospice foster home ever since.
When Frankie first joined Unbreakabull, he was immediately transferred to our vet partner for an emergency procedure to remove a foreign object he had ingested at the shelter. Since then, he’s had quite a journey, and we’re committed to ensuring he spends his remaining years in comfort and surrounded by love.

Though Frankie is as loving as ever, he faces several ongoing health challenges. He suffers from a severely scarred, untreated CCL injury that ruled out surgery, especially at his age. Frankie relies on monthly medications to manage his pain. He also requires regular vet visits, including full chemistry panels every few months and monthly professional ear cleanings due to chronic infections. To manage his severe allergies, Frankie is on prescription food, Apoquel, and receives regular Cytopoint injections. Recently, he’s been making additional trips to the vet to address ongoing digestive issues and loss of appetite.

To date, we’ve invested over $6,000 in Frankie’s care beyond pledged donations, bringing the total to nearly $9,000 since he first entered rescue. Thanks to our generous supporters, we’ve been able to cover part of his expenses, but we still have a long way to go. Every dollar counts in helping Frankie continue to live a comfortable and happy life.

For Give to the Max Day, please consider a donation to help us cover Frankie’s ongoing medical costs. Your support means the world to us and makes a huge difference in the life of this sweet boy, who truly deserves to spend his golden years in comfort. Patch was facing euthanasia earlier this year, but thanks to our amazing community and supporters, we were able to give him a second chance.

His story was heartbreaking — his intact biological father attacked him, leaving Patch with multiple bite wounds. The young 10-month-old puppy was understandably shy, defensive, and in need of a lot of care and patience. He had severe behavioral needs, requiring extensive training and socialization to become the loving pup we knew he could be.

We immediately recognized Patch's potential and took him in. He went to a $2,800 board and train program that was extended to 8 weeks to help him heal physically and emotionally. Patch worked hard to overcome his fears and build trust with humans, and we’re proud to say he made incredible progress. He learned how to be comfortable with handling, improved his social skills, and became more confident.

Today, we’re beyond thrilled to share that Patch has been adopted and found his happy ever after! His transformation from a scared, defensive puppy to the happy dog he is today would not have been possible without the support of our community, his wonderful trainer, and his foster.

For Give to the Max Day, we ask you to consider donating to help us continue saying “yes” to dogs like Patch. Your support allows us to invest in the training, care, and love that dogs like him need to thrive. Every dollar donated will go directly toward helping more dogs in need get the chances they deserve: https://www.givemn.org/story/0ainif

Juice joined Unbreakabull in July after facing a euthanasia deadline at MACC. If you remember K-9 Ron, Juice could be his brindle counterpart — they share a similar backstory and an impressive toy/hunt drive.

Juice’s fosters originally tested Ron for the K-9 Protectors and carried out the same tests for Juice. He passed all his temperament tests with flying colors and possesses an incredible toy drive. The only difference? During his time in the shelter, staff noticed that Juice had significant muscle wasting in his right rear limb and a reduced range of motion in his hip. X-rays revealed an untreated hip fracture, causing him significant pain and discomfort.

Like Unbreakabull alum, Ron, Juice qualified for the K-9 Protectors, but unfortunately, his hip issues put him at a disadvantage. A few months ago, he underwent Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery to alleviate his pain and help him live a normal life. The cost of his procedure and post-op therapies was $2,400. Thanks to our amazing community and generous discount from Sweaty Paws, we raised the funds needed for Juice’s surgery and hydrotherapy, which also led to finding his amazing forever family!

Juice LOVES hydrotherapy and will continue future sessions with his adopters at Sweaty Paws. His new parents are head over heels for him, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending to Juice’s story. Although, his journey is just beginning!

For Give to the Max Day, consider a donation to help more local dogs like Juice get the happy ending they deserve. Thank you for being part of their stories! Donate here: https://www.givemn.org/story/0ainif

Beefaroni was facing euthanasia at MACC after exhibiting behavioral issues and suffering from a severe cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) injury that left him in constant pain. He was transferred to Unbreakabull from another rescue, giving him a second chance at life and the opportunity to get the procedures he so desperately needed.

Thanks to your incredible support, Beefaroni has undergone bilateral TPLO surgery and both knees have been successfully repaired!

Since his surgeries, Beefaroni has made remarkable progress. He’s been living life like the happy, healthy dog he was always meant to be. His transformation has been nothing short of amazing, and we’re so grateful for everyone who made this possible — including his wonderful foster!

Thank you for being part of Beefaroni’s story, and for helping the many other dogs who join rescue after him. 💛

Jett found himself at a local impound after being confiscated from a hoarder situation. He had scarring on his face and a massive cherry eye that caused significant discomfort. His road to recovery hasn’t been the easiest – his first cherry eye surgery didn’t hold, so he received a second, more specialized procedure.

Both surgeries totaled $2,400, and now he’s due for another procedure to repair tissue damage in his ear. Despite his rough start, Jett has always been a happy, outgoing guy, and now he’s ready for a new chapter while he searches for his forever home!

On this Give to the Max Day, every dollar counts toward helping Jett see a brighter future - literally and figuratively. Donate to help Jett and more dogs like him: https://www.givemn.org/story/0ainif

Bruno originally found himself on the euthanasia list at a local impound due to his chronic pain and deteriorating mental health as a result of severe kennel stress.

Bruno suffered from a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) injury, which caused significant pain and instability in his knee. After joining a loving foster home with Unbreakabull and getting the surgery he needed, he’s already feeling better and enjoying life pain-free.

His transformation has been incredible, and he is now able to fully embrace the life he deserves. To date, we’ve invested $2,800 in Bruno’s medical care, including his surgery and follow-up appointments. But we’re not stopping there — Bruno will also be receiving in-home training to help him thrive and become the best version of himself.

As we continue to help more at-risk dogs like Bruno, we are deeply grateful for your ongoing support. Every donation, no matter the size, plays a part in changing the lives of these dogs, giving them the second chance they deserve.

This Give to the Max Day, you can be a part of Bruno’s success story and many others like him by donating here: https://www.givemn.org/story/0ainif

This past spring, 1-year-old Princessa was facing medical euthanasia at MACC after being surrendered. She was underweight, had a fever of 105°F, diarrhea, swollen and painful joints, and was struggling to walk. The causes were unknown, and her future looked uncertain. But her story didn’t end there. With your support, Princessa received the critical care she desperately needed, and today, she is thriving in her loving foster home.

After being hospitalized and undergoing comprehensive testing, Princessa was diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Polyarthritis (IMPA), a rare condition that led to severe swelling in her joints and caused immense discomfort. Her journey has been long, but thanks to ongoing treatment and a dedicated foster family, Princessa is doing so much better. Her joints are no longer swollen, she’s gained weight, and her playful personality continues to shine through!

Princessa is obsessed with soccer balls, loves her faceless bear, and most of all, she’s happy and healthy. Her medical care has exceeded $6,000, and while she’s doing incredibly well, her ongoing care still adds up. We will continue to provide her with the care she needs to live her best life, and that’s only possible through generous donations like yours. In fact, she’s doing so well that her daily dose of prednisone has been reduced, and she’s on track to be spayed and available for adoption by mid-December!

This Give to the Max Day, please consider making a donation to help dogs like Princessa receive the second chances they deserve. Your support can make all the difference: https://www.givemn.org/story/0ainif

The day is here! This Give to the Max Day, we have a goal to raise $10,000 to continue our lifesaving efforts. Since the beginning of 2024, we've shifted our focus to take on more medical and behavioral cases from local shelters, prioritizing dogs who needed us most. Our medical and training bills so far have totaled more than $150,000 and counting this year alone. As a small rescue, we can't continue saving local dogs without help from our amazing supporters. GTMD is a big day for so many rescues, so we hope you'll consider a donation so we can keep saying "yes." 💛

Tomorrow is the day...Give to the Max Day!

is critical to our mission so we can continue our lifesaving efforts in 2025. Unbreakabull is a small rescue, but we have big hearts and invest in dogs who need us most.

This year alone, we’ve pulled 25 code-red dogs from MACC, in addition to many other MACC dogs and other local and out-of-state dogs at risk of euthanasia. Many of these dogs were facing deadlines due to medical or behavioral challenges, or both. What they needed was a chance: a “yes,” care, rehabilitation, and someone to believe in them. These dogs are more than their shelter behavior - they are worthy of love, comfort, and peace beyond cement walls.

At the beginning of 2024, we expanded our MACC intake efforts thanks to a passionate volunteer who stepped into an intake coordinator role with a focus on code-red dogs. We’ve increased foster outreach, onboarded new fosters, and connected with many new supporters and volunteers. As a result, our impact has grown tenfold this year.

But with increased intake comes increased expenses. In 2024 alone, we’ve spent over $150,000 on medical and training costs. While we’re determined to keep saying “yes” to more dogs, the dogs in our care must always come first. To avoid going on another intake hold, we’ve set an ambitious goal to raise $10,000 tomorrow to keep our doors open. Every dollar makes a difference, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported us on this journey.

None of this work would be possible without our incredible volunteers, fosters, adopters, and community members. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU 💛

This is the heartbreaking side of rescue 😞

We got a call from a local impound about a dog that was found in horrible condition — obviously neglected, starved, and mistreated for who knows how long.

We KEEP SAYING WE ARE ON HOLD! Due to finances from SO MANY medical cases like this we are in a tough spot... but then you see this and think how could we say NO?? How could we NOT give him a chance to know love? HOW?

So we said YES not knowing how we will cover all the expenses but just rely on our faith in our community.

Welcome Mouse to rescue. HE's the sweetest most precious little guy EVER!!

We will get him to the vet and get him on a plan for healing!

Give To The Max Day is this Thursday. If you can spare any change for Mouse please donate here:
