Thumps the Grump My name is Thumps (short for Thumper) and my hoomins think I'm a grump even though they spoil me. I' Hi. I'm a Netherland Dwarf Bunny 🐰 and weigh about 2.5 lbs.

Daddy, 1 of the 2 hoomins, adopted me July 21, 2015 but I was born in 2013. Dad does not know my birth date so he made it Cinco de Mayo! Mommy met me in October and I love her because she is my gatekeeper and lets me out to explore. The hoomins started this page to show off my personality. I'm sure the constant photos and videos will annoy me but I hope you enjoy so it's worth it. - 🐰

Today would have been Thumper's 11th birthday.

We wish we were making you up your birthday platter in the shape of an 11, getting out your birthday hat, spoiling you with nanners, head pats, and bugging you with love all day.

Thumper, we miss you every day. We miss your thumps, your antics, your love of sunbeams, how you would work with us and hang by our feet, your visits outside your room and how you'd thump to announce your presence as you came in our room, how you'd sit next to dad as we binge-watched something in the bedroom, and so, so much more. We wish you got to meet your hoomin brother. We were looking forward to you hanging with us in the nursery during late night feedings and changes. (Oswald will get there one day, if he stops biting everything! 😅)

We hope you're getting all the nanners, head pats, and sun beams, especially today. 🤍 Happy birthday, buddy boo.

I'm not amused the hoomins are trying to make me a flower.

Note from the hoomins: bought Ozzie a better "cone of shame" for night time when we can't watch him. He likes this one a lot better but is still trying to escape out of it. He's recovering quite well and we're hoping to stop using the "cone" in a few days. Little guy sadly can't be trusted with his "area" that is still healing.

Home sweet home ... But WHAT THE COCOPUFFS IS THIS THING ON MY NECK?!

Hoomin Note: Oswald is home from his overnight stay after his neutering. He has to be restricted in movement (confined to a smaller area with less cottages) and is on pain medicine, an antibiotic, and critical care feedings until eating on his own fully. He already has made some p**ps and is chewing at his pen to escape. Thanks for all the love yesterday 🥰

We originally planned to announce him with Thumper and his ultrasound, but we never got the chance. It's a bittersweet day missing Thumper but celebrating Ozzie and our son's first Easter.

Our new family member is settling in and learning just about every book and crany he can get into.

We know online photos often make our pets look larger than they are. To demonstrate how small Oswald is, I added a picture with my hand to compare. He's such a baby! At the vet he weighed only 0.63 kg (about 1.39 lbs)! In comparison, Thumper was adopted at ~2 years old and weighted ~2.5 lbs most of his life.

Ozzie is settling in to his new kingdom and awaiting orders on how to continue Thumper's world domination plans.

✨ Introducing Oswald ✨

We adopted him Sunday, December 3rd. He is approximately 8 weeks old. At the vet appointment Thursday, we had a small gender reveal and... it's a boy!

About a week before getting Oswald, we decided to start connecting with rescues so we could look for a Netherland Dwarf. Within a week, multiple litters of Nethies were rescued. We'll share his rescue journey story soon!

Our house has been heavy with grief the past month missing Thumper. Ozzie has brought joy and chaos to help ease the grief just enough that we aren't feeling as completely broken and miserable. We are still actively grieving the loss of Thumper, but are happy to welcome our hearts and home to a bunny in need.

We chose the name Oswald as it's another Disney rabbit name, like Thumper. We can't wait to start collecting Oswald items as well!

Here's a critical care feeding from last night. We're still seeing good amount of poops from Thumper and he's getting better at taking critical care without a huge fight... That or mom is getting better at giving it! 5 days until teeth procedure.

Continuing to eat greens, kibble, some hay and making progress!

Lil bath time video. So happy to have Thumper back home. He had a good poop today (pics on stories) and he's showing sass still, of course. Thank you for all of your prayers, support, thoughts, and well wishes. ❤️

Not much news to share for our evening update. Thumper is remaining hospitalized with only one small poop. Doc is saying hopefully there will be a poop explosion overnight as it normally happens at night. One thing that made us laugh and showed Thumper is still fighting and is in there under all this: we were told Thumper has to go back on Gabapentin because he chewed through his IV!!! That lil stinker! Even hospitalized, he tells the hoomins who's boss! Video from our visit midday

Hoomins got a doggo toy to make me work for my kibble and treats. Blasphemy!

Time to make the bed!

Hoppy Gotcha Day, Thumper! 6 years of not tolerating being gated to one, and sometimes two, rooms.

Mommy started streaming on a thing called Twitch. Sometimes viewers get enough points to redeem seeing me. (Is this site called Twitch because of bunny noses twitching?!) Anyway, here's a clip of one of my appearances. I don't really like being picked up often so appearances cost a lot of points. You can see my mommy and rarely me here: Latte Lexa 🐰
