One of my favorite professors at the U of Wyoming was Dr. George Baxter, the Father of Wyoming herpetology and the person for whom the Wyoming Toad was named after, as reflected in it's scientific name, Bufo hemiophrys baxteri. I have so many great stories about him and his devotion to his students and the retiles and amphibians of Wyoming. He passed away at 93 years of age.

The federal government recently bought roughly 1,000 acres near Laramie as a preserve for the rare and endangered Wyoming Toad, in hopes of helping the toad population recover.

Once the home of Chelsea, MI's most famous citizen, the Queen Anne style house had spent decades divided into apartments before being restored as a single-family home. The restoration was done in phases. These images show the dramatic difference made by reopening and restoring the porch that had been enclosed to make an apartment in the 1970s.

Sadio Mane, a Senegalese soccer star, earns approximately $10.2 million annually. He gave the world a rude awakening after some fans were flabbergasted when they saw him carrying a cracked iPhone 11. His response was awesome:
"Why would I want ten Ferraris, 20 diamond watches, and two jet planes? I starved, I worked in the fields, played barefoot, and I didn't go to school. Now I can help people. I prefer to build schools and give poor people food or clothing. I have built schools and a stadium, provide clothes, shoes, and food for people in extreme poverty. In addition, I give 70 euros per month to all people from a very poor Senegalese region in order to contribute to their family economy. I do not need to display luxury cars, luxury homes, trips, and even planes. I prefer that my people receive some of what life has given me."

"Buffalo Skies" in Montana as my daughter Colleen and I begin our midwest storm chasing trip in 2017. We have done 3 trips over the years to the central US when big weather starts in the spring. I enjoy the cloud structures and she like the old buildings and the art we encounter on our trips usually lasting 10-14 days and covering 4-6,000 miles. They are wonderful adventures together. Enjoy the beauty of His creations on lands and skies...
