These two were only at Animal Rescue Project for 2 hours before they were adopted together. I am so excited for Dante and Doodle to spend the rest of their lives together. 💖💖💖

Doodle is a Mama's boy and shy guy. He'll definitely do better if adopted with his mama or brother. He's rambunctious and playful and definitely orange! His brother Dante is outgoing and snuggly. Dante will play hard but he also snuggles hard. He loves curling up on laps. These two need to go to homes with another kitten to play with.

All these amazing kitties are going to the Animal Rescue Project today (ok, except Diesel, because I want her to gain some extra weight back before she's adopted). Go meet them and apply to adopt! They're good with kids and 60lb dogs and other cats.

Tenacious C AKA Dorian has had some boundaries broken in the past, so he really needs a family who will respect him and give him his space when he needs it. He loves bags and boxes and high places. He also really needs another cat his age or a little older to play with him and put him in his place. He'll take a few weeks to warm up and get comfortable, but when he does, he's a sweetie! If you give him time, he'll be a lap cat! 💖

Mama Dino is ready to relax and stop being in charge of a litter of kittens. She's a sweet girl who has recently started asking for pets and snuggles. I know she'll be someone's love! Bonus - she looks orange but doesn't act it. 😉

Archer (m) is FINALLY ready to be adopted after a long stretch of tummy problems. He's spent so much time in isolation because of illness that he's just always happy to be around other people and cats. He plays hard and would love a kitten his age to tumble with. But he also snuggles and purrs up a storm when he's around people. 😻

Finally, Diesel is well enough to be taking adoption applications, but will not be in the ARP Cats kitten room just yet. She's a gorgeous tortoiseshell with an attitude to match. She'll snuggle and be a lap cat on her own terms, but she's also independent and playful. It's going to be exciting to watch her weight and grow into herself. 💖

Are you having a slow, boring holiday season? You probably need more orange kitties in your life! Dante, Doodle, and their Mama Dino should be available for adoption next week (just after Christmas)!

The boys are approximately 2-3 months old, and Mama is 2-3 years old. Dante is a lap cat in training, and will always find you when you sit down. Doodle is slow to warm up and a little shy, but follows his brother's lead and would do really well with another outgoing cat or kitten in the family. They are perfectly matched and would be an amazing pair. Mama Dino is wishing for a home where she can rest and relax. She's always in the room with us and has even attempted snuggling at times. I think she'll grow into a wonderful calm lap cat given the opportunity.

All of them are comfortable around other cats, dogs, and kids (though like I said, Doodle is more reserved). Reach out to Animal Rescue Project if you're interested in any of the members of this orange family!

Diesel is supposed to be recuperating in the area on the right with Archer. Instead she's snuggling with Hilda on the left. I'm not upset. I just don't want Archer to figure out how to jump the fence.

Seeing double! Mama Dino snuck out for dinner with the family cats tonight. Apparently Hilda didn't get the memo but Dino definitely did.

Trigger warning ⚠️

We made the decision to have Dawg humanely euthanized today. It's never an easy choice, but he would have passed soon anyway and it was heartbreaking to see him struggle to swallow and breathe. I'm glad I got to hold him this morning and give him love before he passed.

We're going to need your thoughts and prayers for Dawg this weekend. After doing much better on Wednesday, he started losing weight again and is now under a pound (at 9+ weeks old - when his siblings are all over 2 lbs). We're giving him subq fluids, Rebound, and keeping him warm and comfortable, but I honestly don't know if he'll make it through the night

This is the part of rescue work that is the hardest on me: when you can't figure out what's wrong and nothing is helping even though you're doing everything the vets say. Hopefully he'll still be with us in the morning and I can keep trying to save him

Foster siblings Dawg (orange) and Archer (gray) are both struggling with persistent tummy issues. They are in quarantine in a room that can be cleaned easier. We have them on multiple meds but nothing has helped their tummy issues yet. In an attempt to rule out allergies, They are now only eating Sensitive Stomach food. Please donate directly to me (link below) or to Animal Rescue Project so we can continue their new diet long enough to see if it's helping. In addition, I'm asking for Pro-Pectalin that we are giving them every 8 hours and fortiflora that goes on top of all their food to help reset their gut flora. Plus, newspaper or pine litter would be very helpful

We need to get this under control because both boys are at least a pound under weight - for Dawg that means he's HALF the size of his littermates in the other room. 💔

Our highest need right now is the canned sensitive stomach food (any brand). Thank you so much!

If there is a box, Tenacious C will find it and sit in it in a matter of seconds. It's one of his main skills.

Dino and Hatchlings update:

Everyone is gaining weight. Two of the boys feel great and are very playful. The other two babies and Mama still don't feel very good. I'm giving Dawg and the entire kitten room a bath at least once a day.

Update on Archer (top) and Aurelia (bottom):

After *weeks* of leaky butt syndrome, Archer is finally doing better and is gaining weight. We recently started him on sensitive stomach and skin food, thinking his issues might be due to allergies. It's too soon to know if it's officially working or just good timing. He'll need to remain on the new diet for a few weeks and then slowly wean off to see if there are any issues. (That said, I've added some to our wishlist to be donated directly to us or to Animal Rescue Project for Archer - in comments).

Our Aurelia Muskrat is doing well too. She had a VERY good day yesterday, where she played and ran around and was the best girl ever. She's finally gaining weight again as well, and has returned to potato shape. At the moment she's a long-term foster or perhaps a hospice foster ("fospice"). But people can graduate out of hospice and hopefully someday she will too. In the meantime, she's an honorary member of the family and we all love her.

I told my family yesterday that I wouldn't be leaving the house today. Then I got a text from our foster liaison asking if I would take this sick family because their current foster didn't have the ability to give them the extra attention they needed as she is balancing a bunch of other things in her life right now. So today I prepped the kitten bathroom and made an exception to the "no leaving the house" rule.

They are having MAJOR poo issues. I drove home with the windows rolled down, immediately gave them all baths before I introduced them to their new enclosure, and gave them meds and probiotics. By the time we had come up with names for everyone, the littlest baby needed another bath. I realized he's the reason the others are so dirty, so I put him in a quarantine cage in the same room as everyone else. Hopefully with meds and strong probiotics, we'll be able to reunite him with his family soon.

So. Long story short 😉 meet Mama Dino and her Hatchlings, Dawg, Dante, Doodle, and Diesel. Diesel, the tortoiseshell, is the only female kitten. I can't wait to get to know them.

Happy adoptions to Dracula, Freud, and Tidbit and Alice (who went home together)! Casper's adopted is pending as well. 💖

Apple, Autumn, Allspice, and Achilles are still at the ARP Cats kitten room waiting for families (along with so many other cats and kittens).

Plus our dear boundary-setting Tenacious C AKA Ten Ten AKA Dorian AKA Mr. Grey is ready to be adopted as well. He's independent but has been known to curl up in laps when he's comfortable in a home. He does well with our 60 lb dogs and loves playing with our cats (though he sometimes needs to be reminded to play nicely). He will do best in a family with no kids, or kids who understand his cues that he needs space. He's curious and energetic and LOVES high places so if you're willing to build him a jungle gym, he'd be in heaven.
