There are hundreds of pictures I could post of Toad, all with tricolors, and most with multiple tricolors. But, I am just going to post this one. Toad had a lot of people come in and out of his life over the years, but his two constants were myself, and Shannon Marie Basinski. We took care of him and made sure the temporary people along his journey respected who, and what, he was. Sometimes that was hard, but he was worth all the rules and restrictions we put in place and enforced. Most of the trainers, and most of the judges in whose rings he competed, tried to buy him at some point. He was that amazing. Thank you to Paula Pray for finding him for us all those years ago, and to Maureen Reynolds Sutter for a peaceful and dignified end to this exceptional life. At the end, Shannon and I were there, along with Nancy Basinski and Roch Thornton and Jef Foley. It was a small (on purpose) and loving cadre who sent him on his final journey. And so this picture of Shannon and Toad is a fitting final testament to a wonderful life. Toad, I don't believe in an after life, so I don't believe I will see you again. However, the privilege of knowing you in this life was more than enough.
