Otis needs a forever home.
Otis is an 8 year old, 135 pound Great Pyrenees/Lab gentleman. In his short stay at his foster home he has quickly gathered more hearts than a grade school Valentine’s party. Otis loves to take a walk around the neighborhood and a gentle lead leash ensures you walk him and he doesn’t drag you. He leisurely falls asleep in the middle of the floor, only stirring when he senses a commotion that needs his attention. He has a gentle mutter under his breath when he hears a far off dog barking, simply ensuring you know some mischief may be about the area. When his foster home children return from school, he sweetly greets them at the door with his tail wagging. He will gingerly take a treat from your hands, and will respectfully place it on the floor when he isn’t interested. Otis resided with three other dogs previously and did not have any issues. His behavior with cats is unknown. He also loves scratches and will lean his whole body into you to ensure you know he is enjoying the massage. Otis deserves the best home to spend his retirement years and you will be rewarded with a loyal companion keeping watch over your family.

MAYBE YOU NEED HIM AS MUCH AS HE NEEDS YOU?

Sweet Gaston is seeking his home! At age 12, this sweet and very small Poodle is an easy guy to have around. He was picked up as an unwanted stray, but has been thriving in a foster home with kids, other dogs, and adults he clearly loves to nap alongside. We think he will be just fine with cats too. He has been fully vetted, had some dental work done, and the only effect of being a senior pup is he wears a belly band in the house to forego any urinary accidents. He wears that belly wrap with great aplomb, though, just as he does everything else! Gaston is described as a "quiet soul" by his foster and is also skilled at following from room to room, just to stay in touch.

Animal Control has this senior (8-10 years) black Lab waiting for his new home. He gets along with everyone, is clean in his kennel and is not yet neutered. That is all we know, as his person died and he was brought into the animal control facility. OUR URGENT REQUEST FOR YOUR HELP

Friends,

We are reaching out for your urgent help.

Contract working service dogs remain behind in Kabul Airport. They waited 8 days inside the airport for transport: Rescuers only needed the hold of an airplane to transport the dogs—a space no human passengers would fill, so the dogs did not replace any human being rescued. Direct US military dogs were flown out last week.

We want all Americans, their allies, and animals to be safely transported out of Afghanistan. ALL.

The American Humane Association (AHA) is leading the domestic effort to get these dogs rescued. Other rescues on the ground in Afghanistan are working there. The AHA told us Tuesday morning that the US State Department is blocking the transport of these dogs plus other animals as well. If you feel compelled to act, AHA asks that you PLEASE CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS TO EXPRESS YOUR SUPPORT FOR TRANSPORT AND RESCUE OF THESE ANIMALS. Ask your representatives to contact the State Department to allow the transport of these animals.

Finn Needs His Home!!

Finn has been fostered for nearly a month now and 100% shown the sweet nature he has inside. Age 10, about 18 pounds, he has a face and personality photographers dream about! Finn’s fosters are relocating for new jobs, and we are seeking a foster-to-adopt or foster home for him by the end of August. Other than TLC and attention, his only real criterion is “no small humans please,” so we seek an adults-only home.

“Sweet Finn! Finn is a 10-year-old terrier mix who wants a calm and supportive home. He would love to wake up around 9 am (except we wake him up at 5 am) to a gentle voice saying good morning and then eat, go potty, and take another nice nap all day. He is able to be out of his crate as he is fully house trained but you’ll find him laying in there anyway. The way he sits on his bed and in his crate is one of the cutest sights you’ll see. He acts as if he is the most proper dog you’ll ever meet.

“The great thing about Finn is that he will walk if you want and if you don’t want to walk that’s fine too. He gets along with other dogs and big humans, but he needs a home without the small humans. Finn would be a fantastic dog for a first-time owner as he knows all his commands and is a calm boy.”

This fellow has been one of our favorites for a couple years, and we’d love to see him settled in his forever home for naps, walks, and shared special moments. He has lived fine with cats and is well-trained. Please send us a message if you think you may offer Finn that sweet spot or share this post to help us find his home.
