Since 2004, Top Dog Foundation has rescued senior dogs, restoring their health and finding them new lifetime homes. We create a Second Act for ElderPups, welcoming senior dogs to love and care for the rest of their lives.

Otis needs a forever home.
Otis is an 8 year old, 135 pound Great Pyrenees/Lab gentleman. In his short stay at his foster home he has quickly gathered more hearts than a grade school Valentine’s party. Otis loves to take a walk around the neighborhood and a gentle lead leash ensures you walk him and he doesn’t drag you. He leisurely falls asleep in the middle of the floor, only stirring when he senses a commotion that needs his attention. He has a gentle mutter under his breath when he hears a far off dog barking, simply ensuring you know some mischief may be about the area. When his foster home children return from school, he sweetly greets them at the door with his tail wagging. He will gingerly take a treat from your hands, and will respectfully place it on the floor when he isn’t interested. Otis resided with three other dogs previously and did not have any issues. His behavior with cats is unknown. He also loves scratches and will lean his whole body into you to ensure you know he is enjoying the massage. Otis deserves the best home to spend his retirement years and you will be rewarded with a loyal companion keeping watch over your family.

Please share!!! She has been missing since November 15 when she was inside an SUV that was stolen. SUV recovered, Harper was gone. Not ours, simply trying to help.

Tomorrow is Give to the Max Day in Minnesota. We're using it to also introduce a very special senior who has found his lasting home.

Bowie is the most recent rescue for Top Dog Foundation. As you may see, he has what many call "special needs," but for those who rescued him, he is simply special.

Give to the Max Day is coming up tomorrow, Thursday, November 18. However you may define "giving" and "max," we hope you will reach out a hand or any funds you can offer to someone in need. If your hand is extended to animals in need of rescue, we guarantee an uplifted heart.

MAYBE YOU NEED HIM AS MUCH AS HE NEEDS YOU?

Sweet Gaston is seeking his home! At age 12, this sweet and very small Poodle is an easy guy to have around. He was picked up as an unwanted stray, but has been thriving in a foster home with kids, other dogs, and adults he clearly loves to nap alongside. We think he will be just fine with cats too. He has been fully vetted, had some dental work done, and the only effect of being a senior pup is he wears a belly band in the house to forego any urinary accidents. He wears that belly wrap with great aplomb, though, just as he does everything else! Gaston is described as a "quiet soul" by his foster and is also skilled at following from room to room, just to stay in touch.

GASTON SEEKS HIS FOREVER HOME

Single, free spirit looking for a like-minded person to cuddle and explore the world. I am comfortable in any environment; I love other dogs, attention from kids of all sizes, a warm fluffy bed, and car rides.

My name is Gaston, I am approximately 12 years old, and I am a petite poodle. I am super sweet, incredibly quiet, and long to have a person to call my own. I love food, but it has to be soft since I don’t have many teeth. I also prefer to wear a belly wrap; I need someone patient while I master potty training.

If you are looking for unconditional love, someone who will faithfully follow you around, a quiet soul, and long evenings spent under the covers watching a movie – I am the pup for you!

FOSTER NEEDED!

Animal Control has this senior (8-10 years) black Lab waiting for his new home. He gets along with everyone, is clean in his kennel and is not yet neutered. That is all we know, as his person died and he was brought into the animal control facility. WHAT DO FOSTERS DO?

Sometimes people ask what fosters do with each dog. Well, here's one thing! Hope you enjoy this as much as the dogs did! #SecondActForElderPups

STEVE WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU! Steve is an 11+ year-old Chihuahua who was found as a stray. He is the most loving dog to humans, dogs, cats and kids! If you have small children, then this is the dog for you. Although we don't recommend it for Steve's sake, your 2-year-old could tug, squeeze and hug Steve. With just a little bit of TLC he has become the best companion! He is fully house-trained, and is crate-trained in a large crate because even though he weighs only 8 pounds, he likes to move around and switch positions when sleeping. Outside his crate, you can find him staring out the window, looking to share attention, or checking out the house to be sure no intruder has come inside. He loves walks and often sits up and waves his feet in greeting. Steve was recentally neutered and had some teeth pulled. He is now in good health and takes no medications. If you have been searching for a "Buddy," his name might just be Steve! Steve is in a foster home. Adoption applications are online at our website. #SecondActForElderPups
