dogs I have the pleasure of looking after. Any pet in my care is treated as my own. I appreciate the area of the country we live in and enjoy spending many hours in the great outdoors; our beautiful countryside, coastal paths and beaches. Clocking up many thousands of steps per day! Transportation is a van with three crates inside. 1 x large and 2 medium size. Other information;

- I am in my mid 40's, fit and healthy, non-smoker.

- Insured - Pet Plan Sanctuary

- First Aid trained

- DBS certificate

My own gorgeous cocker spaniel often joins our walks, she loves all her buddies and meeting new paws �

My Thursday groups are definitely a mixture of dogs. From Cockerpoos to Frenchies, Terriers to Spaniels and now we have a Bassett!

Maybe today wasn't the best day to go off exploring a brand new track, but they all didn't mind! I just turned, left, left and hoped for the best 😬 The hill on the way back was a killer, but at least we found a new quiet route and there should be some tired small and big legs tonight 🐾🐾

Little switch in our walking area today. I'm sure they don't mind at all where they go, but it is nice for them and I to have a change of scenery every now and again. Not quite as exciting as the Chinook yesterday, but this new wide path up the hill and across the top, sadly makes me very happy!! I think they are too. Lovely, chilly Thursday afternoon 🐾🧊🐾

Cyclist, runners, horses, snakes all the things you are focused on looking out for and avoiding and theeeeeeen in comes a Chinook!! 🚁 We've seen these many times over the years, but today the girls thought they could see em off 🤣🤦😫

If anyone heard me scream Pooooppppyyy it's because way after it had gone I let her back off and she still gave chase!

Don't know how many times in my life I've seen or I will see this view, but will never tire of it or take it for granted. Especially on days like today. I may not be able to feel my cheeks, nose or ears, but this is beautiful, just a lone cloud in the sky and a super quiet Woodbury Common. Bliss 😍

I would love to welcome a new set of paws to my wonderful crew, but I just have a few requests:

🐾 Dogs should be happy in the company of others as I walk in groups only
🐾 Must be able to walk well on a lead
🐾 Have great recall as we walk in open areas
🐾 Should be medium to small in size due to current group dynamics (and transport)

Morning/afternoon/evening visits available.

During my visit I will:

😻 Feed and clean bowls
😻 Change and clean litter trays
😻 Updates as required
😻 Ensure house is secure
😻 Move mail
😻 Take bins in/out

Happy New Year to all my wonderful paws and their amazing paw-parents. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed the break, I can't wait to see you all in the New Year and I'm sure they can't wait to see their buddies. We need to start walking off these Christmas calories!

Before I leave 2023, I just want to pay tribute to the dogs lost this year. It's never, ever easy, each ruffle means everything and it's impossible not to get attached, here's to them 🌈

That really is a wrap for 2023. Finished how most of the year has been - very wet and muddy! Let's hope we don't go from this straight to a heatwave, somewhere in between would be lovely 🤣

Safe to say no matter the weather my dogs love each other's company, they'll be raring to go on Tuesday 🐾

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has spoiled Millie and I. I've had everything from wine, fizz to a cuddly toy, to vouchers for pampering, a gorgeous paw print bracelet and a touching tribute to the Working Cocker Spaniel ❤️ plus many more very thoughtful gifts and cards in-between. I am truly grateful for every single one 🎁

What a lovely Friday morning. Weather has calmed down, it's super quiet and after some good zoomies it was time to have a lovely mooch about, no bog surfing and only one poop roller 🤣 Barley was a little unsure as he heard gunshots in the distance so he stayed close by. These are the mornings 💜

This is usually my quaint, quiet and beautiful 'secret stream' - not today! All the dogs were looking at me to cross over and go the way we usually would so they could have a dip or a swim, but I just couldn't allow the risk. I'm not sure I've ever seen it this high or fast flowing. It's been a pretty rough day, weather, flooding, conditions and after a second change of soaked clothes, it was time to head home. Bring me those cold, crisp, even freezing Winter days, any day ❄️

These four; 'what snow'!?❄️ Didn't see another soul on the common, wonder why 🤔 A very chilly day to finish the month off, but still making me smile watching their zoomies!

This morning I took my 'Cranbrookers' to Walkies at Rockbeare. Lovely large open space, gorgeous views across the fields, lots of new sights and smells, together with the odd game of chase (and a few roly polys!) Lovely to have this space to ourselves, everyone, including me, thoroughly enjoyed it 🐾🐾

My Tuesday afternoon girl gang enjoying a good potter and lots of sniffs at Uphams Plantation, a couple of them almost in camouflage!🌲

Our Story

Thank you for visiting Hartleys-Hounds, my dog walking and pet service business. I’m Karen, I enjoy running my own business which has now been in operation for 3 years. Walking wonderful dogs across various local areas and looking after other animals from Cats to Horses! I am based in Exmouth, but cover other local areas such as; Lympstone, Woodbury, Cranbrook, Clyst St Mary. I love my work, walking all the fabulous dogs you can see on my page, as well as all other non-dogs I have the pleasure of looking after. My service is reliable, friendly and fun. Any pet in my care is treated as my own. Where possible my own energy filled Spaniel joins the group walks for great games of chase! I appreciate the area of the country we live in and enjoy spending many hours in the great outdoors; our beautiful countryside, coastal paths and beaches. Transport is available for collection and return (no additional charge made for mileage). Dogs are transported in spacious crates. I have wonderful reviews from existing clients and I feel blessed they entrust me with the care of their pets. Other information; - I am past 40, fit and healthy, clocking up approx 10+ miles per day!

- Non-smoker - Business insurance through Pet Plan insurance company - First Aid trained - DBS certificate

- Licenced to walk on Pebblebed Heath, supporting the Dog Code
