Dear Berner Buds, a friend of mine contacted me about a four-year-old Berner her son is taking care of. Unfortunately, he needs a new home where he is the only dog. Here is his info - please let me know if you are seriously interested. He is currently in Lawrence Kansas.
Rocky is an amazing dog... purebred Bernese Mountain Dog, smart and well-trained, trustworthy alone inside, no interest in running off if you accidentally leave a back gate open, great on a leash, low to medium energy (very calm indoors), and the best cuddler in the world! We got him from a military family that was sent overseas and fell in love with him right away. The issue that has arisen is that he has gone after our older dog a couple of times, and even though we think it's something that could be trained out of him, our dog is too old for us to want to risk an incident during that training period. It's strange, they are great together outside, but on rare occasions inside Rocky seems to have some sort of territorial issue. For that reason we are only considering homes where he would be a single dog, even though he is great with other dogs in an outdoor setting (no issues at dog parks). While it might be fine, he is too good to have to keep finding new homes.
