We’re Expecting! – Lots of kittens needing foster care, that is! Each year Citrus County Animal Services takes in hundreds of animals that are not able to go up for adoption right away whether they are underage or underweight, need socialization, or are recovering from illness or injury. Many of the kittens that go to foster homes just need loving attention and a little more time to grow. We provide our foster families with all the supplies and medical care necessary to care for foster animals until they’re ready to find their forever homes.

Help us celebrate our Fabulous Foster Program by joining us for a Kitten Shower! We’ll have information for anyone interested in becoming a foster, fun activities, and prizes. We’ll also be using this event as an opportunity to collect donations of supplies to support our Foster Program. Things we’re greatly in need of include KMR Milk Replacer, Miracle Ni***es, both wet and dry kitten food, SnuggleSafe microwave heating pads, snuggle buddy plush toys, and replacement Real-feel Heartbeats. Event to be held on Wednesday, March 6th, between 5:30PM and 7:30PM at The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum located at 1 Courthouse Square, Inverness, FL 34450. Clyde recently lost his owner and best friend. He is looking for a new kitty crash pad. Clyde is 13 years old and weighs 15lbs. He is a little unsure of the shelter environment because this a big difference to what he is used to. Clyde will be hanging in his kennel waiting to meet you. All adoptable cats at Citrus County Animal Services are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Come meet him at Citrus County Animal Services, 4030 S. Airport Rd, Inverness.

Congratulations to bonded siblings Riley & Rosie on finding their forever family!
Alexander and his fiancé Lauren already have two kitties at home and came to meet their final puzzle piece for their family, hoping to adopt just one kitten. Riley and Rosie are a bonded pair, and I knew Alexander and Lauren only wanted one cat, so I moved Riley and Rosie out of the kitten room for their meet and greet, thinking it’d give the kittens who weren’t in a bonded pair a chance to meet them. However, After I met Alexander and Lauren, I had this feeling they needed to meet Riley and Rosie.
After some deliberation, they decided 2 more kittens weren’t too many, and Riley and Rosie were meant to be theirs! So today, they made it official, and Riley and Rosie are on their way home!
After some settling in, they’re going to meet their kitty brother named Smokey and a kitty sister named Tabitha! We just know they’re going to love their new siblings, and their mommy and daddy too!

Congratulations to Riley and Rosie on finding their forever! And Congratulations to Lauren and Alexander on their two new fur babies!

And a HIP-HIP-HOORAY for our first adoption of 2024- a double adoption!
