My heart hurts to say that Kim's Petsitting lost our dear Daisy recently. I have tried to find the words to describe how much this dog meant to me but none seem to do her justice.
Daisy and her family were my longest standing clients and turned into family. I took care of Daisy from when they got her as a 10 week old spunky puppy , till she left us at 15.5 years old , a spunky old lady. Daisy was one of the gentlest, sweetest dogs I have ever known. She was an excellent walking buddy, logging countless miles with me with tail wags and sheer joy on her face. They were one of her most favorite things. We took car rides together, went on Starbucks runs, groomer appointments, ice cream treats in the summer with her kid owner Madelyn, fetch playing, yard zooming. I cannot put into words how much I loved this dog. It was an honor and a blessing to be her caregiver all these years.
Run free sweet Daisy. Miss Kim loves you.
Movie Monday!
Spring is here! So we are looking back on some cute pups and kitties from the winter.
Watch for more movies this week.
Reflection
I’ve been taking care of Daisy since 2007. She will be 15 in July. I have seen her through every stage of her life . She doesn’t hear well anymore, so she most times doesn’t know when I arrive, and she can’t see me as well as she used to. But when she notices my presence, she knows that it means it’s time for fun.
Our walks are slower now, and not as long, and I am careful to only take her on the most familiar route as to not confuse her. But the joy that takes over her when we hit that sidewalk is palpable . Her tail swings to and fro the whole way, occasionally getting a whiff of something and digging in to drag me down the walk to investigate.
These are her walks. They are not for me. She can take as long as she wants. She can sniff every tree and shrub the whole way and I am happy to be there with her. It brings me joy.
This is what petsitting is all about . This is why I do it. The love, the connection, the loyalty coming from both ends of the leash.
To Daisy , I am part of her pack, her family. To me she is part of mine.
Oliver is loving this snow.

They like the “fetch” part, but we are still working on the “bring it back” part.
I have a feeling Vivian is telling me off for leaving her too long.
Note- Vivian is not my cat.
