Find Logan's New Home Searching for a new home for Logan in Rochester, NY Logan is 2.5 years old and 65lbs. Logan is as full of love as he is energy.

Logan came to Rochester Animal Services in June of 2023
Logan has been in and out of 3 different homes as either a foster or adoption, each returning him through no fault of his own
When the 3rd family had a change of circumstance and could no longer keep him, I decided instead of having him return to the shelter, he would come live with me while I work on a home-to-home placement
Logan has lived

with kids (a 15 yr old in one home, and multiple younger kids in another) although we would recommend OLDER kids, since Logan can be big and bouncy. Older kids that can understand a dog’s boundaries would also be more appropriate
Logan also lived with a cat and was reported to not chase or bark at the cat
Logan knows “sit” and is working on “down” and “paw” - he’s food motivated and a fast learner
Logan is house trained and to some extent crate trained
Logan loves his chew toys, especially stuffies, although monitoring is required so he doesn’t swallow any bits as he chews them. So far Logan has not chewed on anything he wasn’t supposed to (bedding, shoes, clothes, etc)
Logan LOVES to snuggle. He is the very definition of a velcro dog

Thanks to our very nice neighbors across the street, Logan's fence now has a gate that isn't just three trash cans in a trench coat.

Anyone fancy a late night game of fetch with Logan?
He hasn't learned "drop it" yet, But he does really well if you alternate between a couple of toys to throw for him.

Please share so Logan can find his real mom or dad to teach him how to throw a ball.

Huge shout-out to our friends at Fred Astaire Rochester for letting me and Logan camp out in the studio for a couple days. Giving my roommate a much needed break from our shenanigans and giving Logan some much need space to just be a big goofy dog.

Also huge shout-out to Pixel Pups Photography for doing a little photoshoot for Logan and teaching him some new tricks.

Got a rough temporary fence installed in the yard so Logan can stretch his legs a little off leash, and of course his favorite activity remains "standing on top of something tall and holding a soccer ball"

Hopefully tomorrow I can get a ramp installed on the other side of his agility platform, since he will just jump 4 ft to the ground if that's the direction he wants to go.

Spent a couple hours this morning building an agility platform for Logan. It's pretty rough and obviously not done, and it's not as nice as the one he's used to at the shelter, but when it's finished, hopefully he'll enjoy it.

As best as I can tell, Logan is fully crate trained. He is more than happy to hop right into his crate when asked. So far the longest I've left him in his crate was about 5 hours yesterday, but then I came home took him for a quick walk around the block, and put him back in his crate for another 3 hours while I went to the shelter. And he did PHENOMENAL. He's definitely a little bit higher energy would he comes out of the crate after a long stay, but not anything unreasonable.

Isn't he just the cutest? Please share so Logan can find his forever home.

Logan's been with me for a week now, but here's a look at the first day we met. Logan came into the shelter with multiple open wounds on his face, cuts in both his ears, and sores on pretty much all of his paws. He had horrible kennel presence when he first came in.

This dog has made so much progress both physically and mentally and I'm so proud of him. Please share so he can find a home to continue growing and learning and being a great dog.

Please share so Logan can find a family that's better at putting sweaters on dogs than I am.

Logan has always had a very strong "sit" command, but our friend Shannon came over tonight and taught Logan "down" and "give paw" in about 30 minutes tonight. This boy is very smart and happy to learn, especially when food is involved.

"Paw" still needs some work but I'm so proud of him after such a short time!
