The Northwest SPCA promotes animal welfare in the city of Oroville and the unincorporated areas of Butte County. Kennel visitation begins at 10 am.

We are open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, closed from noon to 1 PM for lunch. Saturdays we are open from 11 AM to 3 PM. We are closed for all major holidays. If you have any questions, please call us at 530-533-7636 or email at [email protected]

Save the date! The Ales for Tails Brew Fest is back on February 1st from 1-5pm! Get ready for a day of craft beer tasting, music, and making a difference. All proceeds go directly to the Northwest SPCA!

Tickets are $30 and available December 1st at Northwest SPCA and Feather Falls Casino Players Club. Limited availability, so grab yours soon! Let’s make this event the best yet and give our furry friends the help they deserve.

The storm is upon us... please be sure your pets are secure and safely sheltered at home! We are expecting rain and snow for the next 5-7 days. Please be prepared.

Have microchip information up to date and current tags on your pets in the event that they get out. Storms can cause them much distress, and when they run, they run sometimes far from home, and when they stop, they find themselves completely lost...

If you are missing your pet, check our website at www.northwestspca.org under the "Lost your Pet?" tab, come in for a visit during kennel visitation hours and give us a call at 530-533-7636.

Sadly, the shelter lost a close member of our family. We will be closed on Saturday, November 9th, to attend his memorial services.

We will also be closed on Monday, November 11th, in honor of Veterans Day.

It's time!! The Northwest SPCA's HOWL-O-WEEN BASH is tonight!! Doors open at 6 pm, and dinner starts at 7 pm. Tickets sold at the door - $35 at the Southside Oroville Community Center at 2959 Lower Wyandotte Rd.

Amazing food, lots of fun, raffles, door prizes, silent auction, music, no host bar, costume contest, and an all together fun night to raise funds to support the animals at the shelter!

A huge shout out to all of the local businesses generously donating prizes and supporting our community!

The shelter will be closed on Saturday in preparation for the HOWL-O-WEEN BASH!

THIS SATURDAY ~ OCTOBER 26TH
at the Southside Oroville Community Center - doors open at 6 pm, dinner served at 7 pm.

Door prizes, raffles, silent auction, costume contest... amazing gifts, baskets, and deals from businesses throughout the community, great cause, awesome fun!

Only $35 per person. Come to the shelter to purchase your ticlets... only a limited number is being sold, so dont wait!

MICROCHIPS REUNITE!!

Duke is home now after an extended time away... reunited because of his microchip!

Be sure to register your pets microchip and keep all of your information up to date!! If your pet is microchipped and you live in the City of Oroville or the unincorporated areas of Butte County... please be sure we have your up to date information in our system!

And yes, so glad you asked... we do microchip dogs and cats here for only $20.

Qualified adopters can take home your new best friend and not worry about adoption fees. Adoptions include microchip, spay/neuter, and all vaccinations while in our care. You must be 18 years old or older, own your home, or have landlord approval (we must speak to your landlord), no big dogs in apartments, and you must be able to provide for the dog (food, water, shelter, humane care) for the length of its life - can be up to and over 14 years Please be sure you are ready for years of love and loyalty... shelter pets rock!! Paws for a Cause event at The Union Restaurant today! Many of these pups are still available! Come in down to the shelter for a visit!

MICROCHIPS WORK!! This sweet pup was found in Stockton and brought back to Oroville by the well-intended founder... but when they decided they couldn't keep her, they gave her to a friend who had her checked for a microchip... which she had! 😃❤️🐾 The owners were located and ecstatically drove up to Oroville to be reunited with their sweet girl - she had been missing for over two months. They never stopped looking for her, and all were so so happy to be reunited! (Photos in comments) Please... if you find a dog, bring them to the local shelter for the area in which the dog was found, regardless of the condition you feel the dog is in... They may have been missing for an extended period of time under an array of circumstances that may have been out of the owners' control. We reunite microchipped animals much quicker than those without microchips, and we microchip for only $20 here at the shelter.
