I have felt the excitement of building something from nothing, the fulfillment of seeing your dog-inclusive weddings come to life.

2024 was a year of growth, the kind that brings clarity, challenge, and transformation as we transitioned from living in New Zealnd for half the year over the last 7 years to living back in Charleston fulltime. I intily planned to take time off time figure out what I wanted to do next, but then y’alll made it clear to me before I was even back in the States, that your dogs needed me.

I answered that call for in-home dog sitting immediately, but my vision for The Wag ‘n Wed quickly evolved far beyond its previous version as an unnamed side hustle.

A vision that in less than a year would reshape what dog-inclusive weddings across the Lowcountry look and feel like.

But in a space with a low barrier to entry (ie-love for dogs or a desire ro mqke some “quick cash”), I have remained committed to elevating what it means to be a dog wedding planner. Because as a former boutique, destination wedding planner, it's about more than just loving dogs. It's about precision in coordination and logistics, a deep understanding of wedding etiquette and customs, and the ability to move seamlessly with a creative team to ensure every dog is comfortable (even in the brutal Charleston summer months), cared for, and present for the moments that matter most.

I've built a business I'm incredibly proud of. A one-of-a-kind business that captures the emotion of what it feels like to celebrate one of the best days of your life with your fur babe(s) by your side. But, also one that celebrates your dog EVERY DAY by providing walks and visits filled with love, joy + adventure.

To every family who has trusted us, to every planner who has welcomed our services into the flow of the day, to everyone who has supported this journey, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We’ve got big plans here at The Wag ‘n Wed this year to be able to serve even more dogs and their paw-rents. JUST REALIZED THIS DIDN’T SHARE TO MY BIZ PAGE THIS MORNING BEFORE I HEADED OUT TO MY DOG WALK CLIENTS. So, I will be extended my donation match of up to $500 donated through The Wag ‘n Wed for all donations to The Bridge Between Animal Rescue through Friday, December 6th.

My fav local rescue continues to step up for animals in need, even when their funds are depleted and they don’t have the fosters.
As many of you already know, but many probably don’t, I donate a portion of all profits to a revenue or shelter quarterly via my business The Wag ‘n Wed.
While I’ve already determined my Q4 organization, I’d like to donate again to BBAR, but I’d like to challenge y’all to participate this Giving Tuesday so I’m going to offer a donation match up to $500 donated as follows:
- Non-The Wag’n Wed clients, I’ll match every $10 with a $1 donation
- The Wag ‘n Wed clients, I’ll match every $5 donation with a $1 donation

Once you’ve donated (tax write off ), send me a screenshot here, on IG, Next door, or via text and at the end of Giving Tuesday, I’ll total up all the donations and do a one-off donation to BBAR by the end of the week. Hey y'all! Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Unfortunately, I got the dreaded text today from one of my dear clients that they had to put their fur baby down last night. I am just heartbroken for them!! 😭

I now have coveted summer bookings available as they had 2 trips booked with me through the summer. If you are looking for an in-home dog sitter or drop-ins, I personally have the following dates available:
- June 20th-23rd
- July 22nd-28th

Also, any suggestions on what you would love to receive as a way to remember/honor your fur baby?

Hey y’all!!

I’ve had a lot of people tell me recently they didn’t even realize a doggie day-of-coordinator/plus one was a service that existed!! Part of that is bc it’s doesn’t exist in this format in the Charleston area except for my business which I moved back from abroad at the end of 2023. 😊

So, why hire a professional doggie day-of-coordinator/plus one for your pup(s) for your wedding day, engagement shoots, or other events?

Well, first so your photographer can get amazing shots like this (below in comments)!! It takes skill to get pups to look directly at the camera and I help ensure that happens. 😊

Second, so you have an experienced professional to ensure this part of your day/planning process is stress-free!

Third, so nobody misses out on special moments or has to leave early when your fur babes become overstimulated, hot, tired, hungry, etc…

At The Wag ‘n Wed, I specialize in all things weddings & events (former destination wedding planner), so not only do you get professional dog handling, you get someone who thinks about and plans for every little detail as it relates to this part of your day!!

This one is SO BITTERSWEET for me as I've had the absolute pleasure of dog sitting for Izzy multiple times over the last few months, starting with the second day she joined her awesome foster family! She is going to make the VERY best dog for a family who has another dog and is willing to be patient & gentle with her!! I will miss her dearly, so if you are local & happen to adopt her, I'd love to keep her in my fur family & be your dog sitter at my friends and family rate bc sweet Izzy girl is family now. :)

Hey y’all! If any of y’all have the ability to foster, there are several sweet dogs who are struggling at the shelter and are now at serious risk of euthanasia. They need to get into foster homes ASAP to save their lives! 🐾

CHARLESTON ANIMAL SOCIETY ISSUES COLD WEATHER ALERT
Take extra precautions with pets over the next several days.

Temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 20s later this week and Charleston Animal Society is urging pet owners to take precautions to protect their animals.

“Different animals have different tolerances when it comes to cold weather,” said Charleston Animal Society Chief Veterinary Officer Lucy Fuller, DVM. “Older pets, thinner pets, animals with certain kinds of fur all may face challenges in freezing temperatures.”

Experts recommend shorter dog walks in very cold weather. Short-haired pets feel the cold faster because they have less protection. Animals with diabetes, heart disease and kidney disease may have difficulty regulating their body temperature.

If you can, keep your pet indoors. Despite having fur, dogs and cats can get frostbite, so no animal should be left outdoors in the cold without proper shelter

Here are some additional tips to help keep your pets safe:

1. Provide warm shelter for community cats. This can be provided through a variety of resources found in most homes, such as a sturdy box or container bin with a towel or blanket inside.

3. Bang loudly on your hood before starting your car. Outdoor or homeless cats often seek the warmth of a car engine.

4. Never leave pets alone in a car during cold weather. A car can trap cold in the winter, and potentially cause an animal to freeze to death.

5. Puppies and older dogs do not tolerate cold as well as younger adult dogs. During extreme cold consider taking them outside only for potty breaks.

6. Call to help an animal in distress. If you see an animal in trouble in the cold, call your local animal control or sheriff’s office.

We're not just a one trick doggie show! Our pet concierge services also include in-home dog sitting so your dog(s) get to enjoy the comfort of their home while you're away and dog walking.

With Wag n' Wed, your dog's normal routine doesn't change when in our care. My rates include a meet & greet with your family in your home so we all get comfortable with each other and so I can get to understand your dog’s demeanor/behavior and routine. Ball is life? We play ball morning, noon, night and sometimes in between. One walk or three walks per day? We're doing it! Working on learning to sit or stay? We'll keep up with the practice (+training treats)! Beach, beach, beach!?! Beach trip it is! Allowed to lay on the couches or sleep in the bed? We'll be right there cuddling with you all day long!
