First time meeting the neighbours over the road, at first he was surprised by these marshmallows on legs then decided to go straight over and meet them. I missed the bit where he was nose to nose with one as they moved by the time I got my phone out. He is just so gentle and curious.

Went to the yard after finishing work and as it was damp and drizzly decided I wouldn't bring Hollywood in for a groom so instead I went to see him in the field with his buddies and snuck him so treats (of course). It was so sweet as as soon as he heard my voice he turned and started to walk towards me and was even happy to stay with me having a fuss after the treats ran out.

Today was last of my leave that I had taken to ensure Hollywood settled in OK. Had a lovely hack in the sunshine and he is just getting more and more confident on his own each time we go out, I am so proud of how he is trusting me and adapting to his new lifestyle. He was happy to have a couple of little trots, ears pricked and relaxed and just enjoying himself. He has also been happy to have his turnout rug taken off and put back on in the field without even his headcollar on. He certainly earnt a few carrots for that tonight.

Second solo hack today and Hollywood was a lot more confident until he saw a house name sign with a pile of logs next it. I do a lot of riding on my own so it was a great opportunity to teach him it's OK to be worried but that he should stop, think and breathe with no pushing from me, once he had taken a breath I would then ask him to move forward. This is what I have taught my older cob and now he will literally face anything as he knows he can trust me. Just love teaching Hollywood as he really listens and tries so hard.

So so proud of this boy today,only ever worked in a group and today he managed his first ever solo hack. We met several friends on their horses and would stop to chat and then he went off on his own, ears pricked taking in the sights and sounds. Lots of praise and neck scratches for him whenever he was unsure and listened to me and carried on. Got back to the yard where he watched one of the horses being clipped, again probably something he has never experienced.

A quick snack break before heading off to herd cows and their calves in a huge round up of over 350 cows.
