Pet Boarding

I provide professional, loving care for your small pets when you go on holiday, into hospital etc. Long term, short term, short notice ... just ask. I am fully insured and I have an enhanced disclosure. I am an ex-volunteer for my local animal welfare organisation where I helped care for small animals and walked dogs. I volunteered two days a week for one year. I am registered with Vets4Pets in Hamilton and Clyde Pets in Wishaw. Because your pets mean so much to you, and some of you are anxious about leaving them, I provide regular updates via Facebook and my website. I will post photographs of them, which is very reassuring and hopefully keeps any worries away. Photos posted with your permission. Please note ... the busier I am, the less photos will be uploaded, but I will try my best to post pics of your pets :) Accommodation Rabbits and guinea pigs will stay in large, spacious appropriate cages, which are located within a fully insulated, purpose built 12 x 10 timber shed, where they will feel safe and warm. I can board a small amount of guinea pigs in my house if you prefer, please just ask. In colder weather, guinea pigs will board indoors. I have a few cages, however, I don't use them all at once. I limit the amount of pets that I look after, so that they get the best care and attention possible. I keep a couple of cages as spares so that, in the unlikely event that any of my sharing guests take unwell, I have a cage to move them into for their well being and comfort. Snugglesafe Microwave Heatpads will be provided for the colder weather. Exercise Guinea pigs and rabbits will have loads of exercise and fun within the shed and in outdoor runs during warmer weather. All rabbits and guinea pigs will be allocated a cage on arrival and will have use of an enclosed, outdoor run during the day (weather permitting) My garden is fully enclosed. Guinea pigs will board indoors. Your pet's normal routine will be discussed and adhered to as much as possible. Hamsters, gerbils etc will board indoors and will have to provide their own accommodation. Health & Hygiene Feeding to your pet's usual routine when possible. Fresh fruit and vegetables, upon discussion. Use of outdoor runs. Attention and handling daily. Administering medication if required. TERMS AND CONDITIONS I have several requirements in terms of health to protect other animals and your own animals. ALL RABBITS MUST BE VACCINATED AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO BOARDING WITH ME. THESE VACCINES ARE 1. Combined vaccines offer annual protection against both myxomatosis and R(V)HD. Rabbits can be vaccinated from five weeks. 2. A single separate vaccine is required to protect against R(V)HD2. Rabbits can be vaccinated from 10 weeks of age. If any animal shows signs of illness I reserve the right to not accept your pet for boarding. Any medical conditions must be discussed with me, prior to boarding. Animals will be health checked daily. If I do have to take your pet to the vet, I will contact you asap to discuss your options. I will be reimbursed all vet expenses. Rabbit and guinea pig nails will be checked upon arrival. I will trim them if necessary (with owner's permission) If you wish your guinea pigs to be bathed during their holiday with me, please ask. Nail trimming is free Bathing (guinea pigs only)... £5.00 *** IMPORTANT *** Please do NOT bring pets to me with dirty, matted bottoms. I will certainly keep an eye on such things during their holiday, and I will happily clean them up, but please make sure that they are clean and hygienic prior to boarding, thanks. Small Pet Boarding Tariff Guinea pigs and rabbits ... £7.00 per day £9.00 per day for two pets who share a cage Hamsters, gerbils etc ... £3.00 per day (per cage) Drop-off and collection times are between Monday to Friday 9am-7pm Saturday 10-11am Sunday 1-2pm These times are subject to change throughout the year. If you require times outwith those stated, please don’t hesitate to ask. ***IMPORTANT*** I can be very flexible with drop off and collection times but once a time has been arranged, please be punctual. I may have other customers coming and going, I may have family commitments, I could have a dental appointment, doctor appointment and other things going on. You may run the risk of no-one being here if you are late (or early) so please make allowances for traffic and weather. Many thanks :)

One, two and three day stays. I am more than happy to board your pets for one, two, or three days. However, because of the work involved preparing accommodation, providing bedding, hay etc and then deep cleaning when they check out, I have a minimum of a four day policy so you will charged for four days. I have a minimum of a seven day policy during June and July. These are my busiest months and I am always fully booked. I cannot afford to turn away a potential booking for a fortnight for example because a pet is staying for a two or three days etc if the dates overlap in any way. So you will be charged for seven days. (This only applies to rabbits and guinea pigs) My winter hours of business vary from my summer hours. Please don't hesitate to ask. Payment by cash, PayPal or bank transfer. *** PLEASE NOTE *** Some of my customers are not receiving my emails.
