This is our largest fundraiser of the year and in order for it to be successful, we will need your help! We’re having a planning meeting here at the barn, June 22nd from 3-5pm.

After many years of faithful service, our 24 year old Rabbit Haven van needs to retire. It is no longer safe to transport people or animals and needs replacing.

Happy New Year, Rabbit Haven family! It’s hard to believe we are saying hello to 2024 and goodbye to 2023. Last year was another successful year of making the world better for countless rabbits. We accomplished the first barn remodel in 10+ years and welcomed over 50 animals and adopted out about half! We expanded our foster care program and hosted a successful Country Hop for the first time since 2019. We finished our medical clinic and changed the sourcing of our produce to save money and add convenience. Thank you for cheering us on, supporting us, and loving rabbits with us! We can’t do this without you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! Here’s to a wonderful and successful 2024 🎉 Pictured: Elvira and Ebenezer, our two newest intakes!

Dear Friends, It is a difficult time of year to find foster homes. We would greatly appreciate your help in shares today so that we can place the dogs on our wait list.
Old Dog Haven is a network of loving private homes spread all over in Western Washington, Spokane or Portland. We work with homeless dogs 8 years old and over, prioritizing the oldest. Since we do not have a shelter of any kind, we rely on our permanent foster families (Final Refuge homes) who provide a loving safe environment until the end of the dog’s life.
**Please note: We are only able to place Old Dog Haven dogs in geographic areas where there is emergency/specialty veterinary care.
What does “Final Refuge” (aka Forever Fosters) mean? The dogs that Old Dog Haven takes in are not adoptable and shouldn’t be moved again. Our network of permanent foster homes provide what we call Final Refuge which is a safe, loving home for the last months or years of his life. (You might call this “doggie assisted living and hospice”.) Most dogs come to Old Dog Haven clearly needing Final Refuge care because of advanced age (usually 13+) or medical conditions. Many, however, have some time ahead given proper care, but have a chronic or expensive condition which makes them unappealing to adopters. We provide support, advice, and help with end-of-life decisions but you commit to be with your Old Dog Haven dog to the end – we find that the rewards of providing a loving safe home far outweigh the pain of losing a friend.

Happy early Thanksgiving from Ford! This little cutie is a young boy who was found dumped outside. With temperatures as low as they have been at night, we are so incredibly thankful Ford was found and able to be caught. He still needs to be neutered and then he will be up for adoption!
Two of our permanent residents have fallen in love! Miss T and Percy have decided they are bonded and we couldn't be happier! Percy is 16 years old and came to us from a California shelter 6 years ago, being pulled from their euthanasia list. Miss T came to us in early 2022 from severe neglect. She was extremely obese, malnourished, her muscles had atrophied, and her hair was falling out. We have done a lot of one on one rehab with her and now she is living her best life here at Rabbit Haven. We love seeing rabbits choose their partners; it is so special. Thanks for being here and helping us to provide them with this life! We couldn’t do it without you 🐰
We want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended and supported us at the 2023 Country Hop! It was a huge success and we couldn’t have done it with out our amazing supporters and volunteers. We had a wonderful turnout even with the rain, enjoyed delicious food, and the auction went well. Most importantly… we had so much fun! Getting the opportunity to see all of you in person for the first time since Covid was very special for all of us. The bunnies appreciate all you do for them, and so do we! It was a wonderful event & we can't wait to host another one!
We are so excited that our friends from will be attending The Country Hop tomorrow! Mandie, founder of Country Road Rabbit Rescue, will be providing information about the rescue and sharing about how volunteering at various animal rescues lead her to follow her dream of creating her own. Her rescue is a vegan forever sanctuary dedicated to providing a special home for special needs buns. She is also a vegan chef and will be serving a portion of the delicious dinner we will be providing to our supporters tomorrow!
