In honor of National Dog Mom Day tomorrow, here’s some ✨ amazing photos of my beautiful boy Toast— I couldn’t be happier to be his dog mom and he is for sure my teacher! We have so much to learn together! I love you my sweet, spicy Toast! 🥰

These photos of my sweet boy were 📸 taken by & for her Black Dog Book in the works and I’m absolutely thrilled with how they came out. I mean, could he be any cuter?

May is finally here— it’s time for flowers!

Here’s to hoping for some nice, dry days in May! Toast is precious in his raincoat, but field trips and sniffaris are a lot harder in the rain.

Plus, spring is such a fun time to take your dog out exploring, there are so many new scents!

Enjoy the new season and get your pup outside for some springtime enrichment!

During walks, the goal is for your pup to pay attention to 🫵 you. While it’s not necessary for them to maintain constant eye contact, they should look to you for guidance and cues.

You can use verbal cues or signals to prompt them to check in with you. Offering high-value rewards, such as tasty 🍖 treats or favorite toys, can help reinforce this behavior.

By consistently rewarding them for paying attention to you, you’ll have a pup that knows to stay focused during walks! 🙌

**Another tip is to NOT let your dogs excitedly pull, lunge, or jump toward and then get to meet people and other dogs on the leash. This creates leash excitability because these behaviors get reinforced with love and pets from strangers and simply getting to meet that dog, but then they find they do not get to meet everyone, which can lead to leash frusteration and potentially over time 💥 Reactivity.

When you work with dogs 24/7, you get to enjoy some really amazing 🤪 goofy faces!

Here’s just a few of the more recent funny moments I’ve managed to grab of some very happy pups (all photos are of dogs, not 🐰 bunnies, despite what the first picture might lead you to believe)!

There’s nothing sweeter than getting to work with these cuties and watch them grow! I hope everyone is enjoying their day with their silly, goofy pups by their side. 💙
