⚡️ Tater Tot ⚡️

“Tate” is a 2020 grade quarter horse/welsh cross. Approx. 13.2” and built like a tank. Loads, bathes, clips. Does just fine barefoot and is UTD on vx.

PROS:
• WTC/ and learning all the fancy buttons super easy! (natural want to lead change, haunch/forehand turns, side passes, baby jumps etc.)
• Brave and willing to tryout all of the shenanigans I throw his way
• Covers ground like a full sized horse and has some speed to him
• PLENTY of personality and wants to be friends with everyone
• Has gone on trail rides, walks over bridges, tarps, rope dummies off him, can be ponied and ponies others.

CONS:
• Still a baby and therefore has baby brain moments (does not blow up, but maybe still too green for a beginner kiddo)
• Will pick on bottom of the pecking order
• Will try to eat ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. Very mouthy baby…. I might have spoiled him with treats.

Howdy there! Entering the professional equine world has been both thrilling yet horrifying (very similar feeling to jumping on something cold backed). However, Rylee and I are eager to take this path and learn from all of those who have built the stepping stones into the equine world.
I do not come from a family of horse people, so much of my journey into horses has been done so blindly. My background with horses was in the English world spent riding with hunter/jumper barns, pony club, and high school equestrian team. I competed in the jumper ring, dressage, and an occasional equitation/pleasure class. In high school, I was a 2x state qualifier in hunter over fences, dressage, saddle seat, and reining. After high school, I studied at the University of Findlay for a year in their English Equestrian Studies program with an eventing focus. While there, I was a member of their eventing team and spent most of the week training and learning about the industry. Since moving back to Eastern Oregon, I have switched gears to working with younger, green horses and concentrating more on learning about the western world. Currently, I ride for the Broncs and Bulls Rodeo drill team, give English based lessons to local kiddos, and work as an assistant at a local mixed practice vet clinic.
I currently attend Eastern Oregon University and will graduate with a degree in Molecular Biology with the goal of attending Veterinary Medicine school in the fall of 2024 and eventually practice equine medicine in the state of Oregon. In our program I hope to expand my lessons program and dabble more in the world of c**t starting. I look forward to continuing to build my skill set and outreach in the horse world.

Featuring: My personal horse Lexi (bay arab), a previous OTTB restart (sold), Tater Tot (my current 4yr old project quarter/welsh), several lesson and University of Findlay horses.

Meet Rylee:
Hi everyone! I’m extremely excited to finally start this journey with my best friend, and learn and grow together in such a wonderful community we call home! My love for horses started when I was about 4 years old, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Growing up I was active in pony club, 4-H, and just about everything there was to do with horses. I have experience in western and English pleasure, equitation, showmanship, trail, jumping, dressage, ranch horse events, gaming, drill team, and was the 2019 Chief Joseph Days Rodeo queen. While in 4-H, I qualified for state fair several times, and was successful in various events at state. I’ve also worked a lot with horses that have rearing, and herd bound issues. In our program my specialties will be training all around horses, working with green horses, pleasure, equitation, showmanship, training kid safe horses, as well as rodeo queen horses, and eventually c**t starting. I will also be offering lessons for most disciplines. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for our program and to meet so many amazing people and horses!

Make it Rein Performance Horses is owned and operated by two childhood best friends in the small town of Joseph, Oregon. Rylee and Maddie both grew up around horses in their rural community, and developed a love for learning about the show industry. They continued to follow their shared childhood passion and, 15 years later, decided to enter the professional equestrian world together.
