Need to get away for a few days? No worries you can trust us to provide fun and responsible care for your furry ones in the comfort of your own home. Kennels are great and provide a service but it is much less stressful for your pet to be at home. Car rides, walks in the Marsh and play time is what we do. We can administer meds, and provide detailed care .
Shout out to the women who work aka volunteer in Rescues. May we support them, donate time, and resources when needed. I left this morning smelling pretty, hair pulled back, even had a touch of lipstick. I walked thru the door 10 hrs later, exhausted, not smelling so pretty, and so damn tired of trying in vain to convince people to spay and neuter.

Friends, I will continue to voice my thoughts on back yard breeders. Like my comments, don't like my comments I don't care. I don't voice my opinion to rack up brownie points. Animal welfare is what I do, it's who I am. So, speak out when you can. Others, feel free to remove me from your friends list if I haven't done it myself.

Before leaving your dog alone with a dog sitter, make sure you are confident in the care your dog will receive by asking the right questions beforehand and leaving a detailed list of necessary information about your home and dog.

There can be many different reasons a dog might growl.
It can also be quite scary for us as owners if it happens and we may knee jerk into telling our dog off to make sure that growling doesn’t ‘get worse’.
But if we do that and it works (i.e. the growling stops or reduces in frequency) all we’ve done is removed the outward behaviour (that for whatever reason) was your dog telling you they’re uncomfortable. We haven’t actually addressed what’s going on under the hood.
So if we have punished the growl, next time our dog is in that situation (or one similar) but is still having all of the same feelings…where do they go to communicate that they are not comfortable?
It may not mean they choose to bite but you’re certainly running the risk of getting closer to that happening.
By successfully punishing the growl you are essentially removing what is a very important warning signal that something isn’t okay and needs addressing.
A growl is very rarely the first bit of a dog trying to communicate something to us. It’s easy to miss a lot of the earlier warnings. If they’ve learnt that earlier warning signals don’t work they’re learning to escalate their behaviour to communicate.
Don’t remove this behaviour from their repertoire or you are essentially removing the batteries from their smoke alarm.

Time and time again i encounter off leash dogs while walking a dog in my care. I purposely avoid off leash areas so that i can work on training, leashing, and let the dog sniff and enjoy without a constant parade of off leash dogs running up to us. I take precautions to ensure the well being of my clients, please respect that. It is irrelevant to me if your dog is friendly. Imagine how you would feel if total strangers came running up to you. ?
