We just launched our new and improved website! Please check it out for a full list and description of our services. I especially want to highlight the “our team” link, which displays our three veterinarians and our wonderful team of talented support staff.

We are the official show Veterinarian at HITS Vermont Summer Festival! Dr. Duggan or Dr. Cook will be on the show grounds for anything the competitors may need. Good luck to all of our clients competing in Vermont!

Protect your horse on and off the farm with the down and dirty of biosecurity!

Next Tuesday, join AAEP member veterinarians Drs. Elizabeth Gorrell and Nikki Scherrer for a webinar discussion that will help you reduce your horse's risk of exposure to infectious diseases when traveling off the farm - and how to prevent bringing those risks back home.

Registration is FREE but required. A recording of the webinar will be available if you miss the live event.

I was so honored to be asked to return to Cornell for the white coat ceremony last week. I got to coat our friend and former summer intern, Ella, as she begins her final clinical year at the vet school. Everyone at BBVS is so proud of her!

Flexion tests are a valuable tool for assessing joint health and mobility in horses, helping pinpoint areas of stiffness, discomfort, or early signs of lameness. By temporarily stressing specific joints, these tests reveal subtle issues that may impact performance before they become bigger problems.

With summer around the corner we are looking forward to helping you and your equine athlete feel your best! Please call our office if you are interested in having a soundness evaluation performed on your horse.

We are thrilled to announce that a third veterinarian will be joining our team in January. Please help us welcome Dr. Victoria Duggan to Black Brook Veterinary Services! Dr. Duggan is originally from Canada and has spent the past several years working on sport horses in New York and Wellington. We are excited for the fresh perspective and valuable experience she will bring to our practice.

Having Dr. Duggan will also increase our availability for elective appointments, including spinal manipulation visits, and will allow us to further expand the services we provide our patients. We can’t wait for you all to meet her!
