Like most inventions, the idea for this innovative p**per scooper design was born from necessity - or rather from frustration and slight germaphobia - to be more accurate. It all began with a small, wrinkly pug puppy named Zeeba (which somewhat ironically means “beautiful” in Farsi.) With all the love, joy, and laughter this new furry life had brought into our home of five (now six), came an equal amount of - you guessed it - p**p!
One of the constant daily rituals that must be carried out to care for our furry companions is picking up p**p. Now as I mentioned, touching “gross” things is not my favorite part of life. I am the kind of person who uses tissues to open doors and washes their hands multiple times a day, so having a dog had some challenges, even with my family helping with the less-savory responsibilities (p**p duty, or should I say DUTY duty, hah). As full-time engineer and a “garage-inventor”, my mind is constantly churning up ways in which daily tasks or everyday items can be improved, or of entirely new ideas to solve common problems. P**p cleanup challenge accepted!
The most popular method of poo cleanup is the hand-in-bag-flip-inside-out technique, which many are used to but I didn’t appreciate at all. I wanted to create a better way to clean up after our pup that didn’t require me to get in such close proximity to their smelly messes. I wanted to create something that mimicked the convenience and design of a traditional backyard scooper, but that was light-weight for walks and cleaner.
This is where the idea for the ScooperGenie came about. A tool that allows people to pick up p**p without having to bend over and feel that hot, mushy, stinky doodoo in a bag over their hand. The ScooperGenie effectively takes the portability and convenience of the traditional plastic bag method and combines it with the “less intimate” design of a scooper to yield a sleek new product unlike anything else in the market.
When our deer pup Zeeb Zeeb was still with us, we used the ScooperGenie every time we went on walks and every time we did backyard cleanups. I feel proud to have successfully created a product that my family and I loved and that has made the lives of many others better.

“Hi, I have a 4 year old (his birthday was yesterday!) American Pit Bull Terrier named Frankie. We rescued Frankie about 7 months ago and he is perfect. As a puppy, Frankie was abandoned to live on the streets. Rescued for the first time, he was used to fight. After being abused and neglected fighting for a few months, he was rescued a second time. Unaware of his aggression towards other dogs (he was unfortunately taught this when he was used to fight), his then owner was walking him, when he attacked another dog.
