Interested in positive reinforcement but don’t want to abandon your current training skills? 🐴

Good news—you don’t have to! Positive reinforcement (R+) doesn’t mean throwing out everything you’ve learned; it means adding a powerful tool to your training toolbox.

You’ve likely invested time, energy, and money into building your skills and training your horse. Chances are, you’re already doing great things. But here’s the thing: incorporating R+ can enhance your connection, improve trust, and create a relationship that’s even more rewarding for you and your horse.

💡 My advice for getting started?
Choose just one behavior to shape or reshape using positive reinforcement. Start small and see how this approach builds confidence and understanding between you and your horse. Meanwhile, leave the rest of your training exactly as it is.

And don’t feel like you have to go it alone. Having guidance from someone experienced in R+ can make the process smoother and more enjoyable. Whether you’re tech-savvy or not, online coaching can work wonders—we’ve got the testimonials and success stories to prove it!

If you’re curious about how positive reinforcement might work for you and your horse, let’s chat! I’d love to help you discover the power of R+ and the joy it can bring to your relationship. 💙

Standing by the round pen today, I found myself deep in thought.
“Should this horse be further along by now?” I wondered. But then I stopped and reminded myself, “Nope, he’s exactly where he needs to be.” 💯

Still, a small voice crept in: “What would others think if they didn’t know the whole story? Would they assume I’ve wasted time or missed something?”
But just as quickly, my heart answered: “Not a chance.”

This horse has come so far—from fearful and reactive to calm and trusting. He’s gone from panicking at the sight of a halter to confidently standing for healthcare. And today, he trotted through the rain without a second thought—a huge step for a horse that once feared even a drizzle.

✨ What if we all focused on how far we’ve come, instead of how far we still have to go?

It’s easy to let expectations overshadow progress, but here’s the truth: we don’t have to achieve anything specific to enjoy our horses. Just sharing life with them is a gift.

So, if you’re feeling the weight of expectations today, I hope this post helps you flip the switch on your perspective. Celebrate the gains, not the gaps. 💙
What expectations are you letting go of? Share in the comments—I’d love to hear from you.

Ever feel like you’re not making progress fast enough with your horse? 🐴

Trust me, I’ve been there. Sometimes, it’s easy to get caught up in the big picture and forget the small victories that pave the way.

But here’s the truth: small wins matter. They build trust, confidence, and a foundation for the bigger breakthroughs to come. Maybe it’s the first time your horse calmly walks past something that used to spook them. Or the moment they start to relax during a grooming session. These moments may seem small, but they’re HUGE steps toward a stronger connection.

💡 Here’s my challenge for you:
This week, focus on one small win with your horse. Celebrate it. Write it down. Share it here if you’d like—I’d love to cheer you on!

And if you’re feeling stuck, that’s okay too. Sometimes we all need a little guidance or a fresh perspective. That’s why I’m here! If you’re curious about how positive reinforcement can help you and your horse, let’s talk. Together, we can turn those small wins into big transformations.

Because at the end of the day, progress isn’t about how fast you go—it’s about the journey you share. 💙

When I first started exploring positive reinforcement, I had doubts. Would it work for every horse, especially my horse and their unique situation? Could I really blend it with what I already knew? Would it be worth the effort?

The answer to all of those questions was a resounding YES.
Positive reinforcement has not only transformed the way I train but also deepened the bond I share with every single horse I work with, other species too.

Here’s what I’ve learned along the way:

R+ isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress.
It doesn’t erase what you already know—it enhances it.
And most importantly, it builds trust and joy like nothing else.

If you’re on the fence about trying R+, I get it. Change can feel overwhelming. But even taking a small step—like shaping one behavior—can open the door to a whole new world of possibilities.

✨ Ready to give it a try?
Let’s chat about how you can start incorporating R+ into your training. Whether you’re brand-new to it or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to help.

Because trust me—once you experience the power of positive, you’ll never look back. 💙

Compassionate equestrians, I just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU.
Your dedication to treating horses with kindness and respect inspires me every single day. 💙

Every time you choose patience over frustration, understanding over force, and connection over control, you’re making the world a better place—not just for your horse but for the entire equestrian community.

The ripple effect of your actions is real. Your commitment to positive reinforcement creates a wave of change that touches everyone around you, including me.

So today, I’m reflecting on how grateful I am for YOU. For your light, your positivity, and your unwavering belief in the power of compassion.

✨ What are you grateful for?
I’d love to hear about the moments, lessons, or relationships that have brought joy to your journey. Let’s celebrate together! 🐴

The bond we share with our horses is unlike anything else. It’s built on trust, patience, and a willingness to listen—not just with our ears but with our hearts. 💙

But let’s be honest: the journey isn’t always easy. There are days when progress feels slow, when doubt creeps in, and when the challenges seem bigger than the rewards.

On those days, I remind myself why I started this journey in the first place: for the love of the horse.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about perfect transitions or flawless performances. It’s about the quiet moments—the nicker of recognition, the soft nuzzle of trust, the shared sense of peace.

✨ If you’re feeling stuck, remember this:

Every step you take, no matter how small, is a step toward deeper connection. And you’re not alone. I’m here to support you, to cheer you on, and to help you navigate the ups and downs of this beautiful journey.

Have you ever caught yourself comparing your journey with your horse to someone else’s? 🙋‍♀️

Maybe their horse picks up new behaviors faster, or their training sessions seem smoother. Trust me, I’ve been there. But here’s the thing: progress looks different for everyone.

Your horse is unique. Your bond is one of a kind. And the pace at which you’re growing together? That’s YOUR story.

💡 Here’s what I’ve learned:

Celebrate the small changes, even if they seem tiny.
Be kind to yourself on the tough days.
And remember, you’re building something far more valuable than quick results—you’re building trust and understanding.

✨ Let’s make a pact:

No more comparing. Instead, let’s focus on our own journeys and cheer each other on. Drop a comment about one thing you’re proud of in your training right now—I can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Our Story could be Yours Too

We are all about positively changing how the world, particularly women, train horses. Or at least that was the mission to begin with: to teach women to train their own horses kindly and effectively. But, we've also found that through using reward-based training and positive reinforcement to compassionately train horses, humans actually benefit from a life-changing personal journey. Although this happened to me, I didn't realize when we started this online program/course and community that it would be true for others too. Now, we are thrilled and consider ourselves fortunate to be in the midst of a group of soulful and caring women as they are learning to train their own horses using positive reinforcement. It is fascinating to coach and see Compassionate Horse Click members and their horses enjoy and grow from this online training experience in a way we never imagined possible. We are honored and grateful to be mentors and friends with the members of this wonderful group of people and horses.
