Reintroducing Ourselves!

It’s been a while since we introduced ourselves, so we thought we would do a reintroduction!

My name is Jess and I am the owner/operator of Cypress Avenue Works. I am 33 years old. I opened CAW in 2017. I am handler to Dove, a 4 year old Golden Retriever, who is my service dog and a breeder for The Roverchase Foundation. I have a variety of chronic illnesses, and am very open about talking about them (you just have to ask)!

I started my shop as a way to provide quality affordable gear for others and to assist in the expenses of training my first service dog (a black lab mix named Fauna). My first service dog passed in April of 2023.

Three interesting facts about me:

1. I have a masters degree in social work.
2. I am the eldest sibling.
3. I’m irrationally terrified of spiders, but am considering getting a jumping spider as a pet.

We are always available to answer questions. The only questions I don’t typically answer are shop interworkings (machine types/material/sources) otherwise I answer most everything else! Ask away!

This happy little sunflower vest gives me all the smiles! This set is headed to ! It is a quilt cotton vest with no pockets, Velcro spots on the sides and down the middle and a set of patches, leash wrap, and patch tab. We think they are going to look so cute in their new set. ADD-A-PATCH, BUILD-A-VEST sets at Cypress Avenue Works! Our premade sales will now include a few Velcro sets in which you can semi-customize them!
The first of these Velcro sets are 18.25” extended moon vest/capes. They are black Velcro, edges, zippers, and fabric. They have duel lined pockets. There are two available. They are available on our website.

Steps in creating your vest:
1. Select your premade Velcro set
2. If you want to add patches select number of patches (options include 2-2x6”, 2-2x6” and a 4”, or 2-2x6” and 2-4”)
3. Choose if you want to add a leash wrap to the set
4. You have the option to also upgrade the set to a convertible set if it is a cape/vest set.
5. Check out! Make sure to list your Instagram or email so we can talk about what patches you want!

Notes to remember: you can only select one patch custom set per vest (2, 3, or 4 patches)

This fun color set was inspired by this adorable mint squirrel fabric! Using this fabric as inspiration, I stretched myself to pair it with colors I don’t typically use! I kinda love the result. This set gives me country sweetheart vibes. This This set is a molded saddle, panel size 20.5”. This set does have pockets. It is direct embroidery on water resistant Carmel colored on the side panels. The middle panel has sewn on 4 inch patches on a squirrel themed quilt cotton fabric. Straps will be added to fit the purchaser. This set cannot be made into a cape.

Calling all little dog handlers! This set is a rounded bow shape, panel size 10”. This set does not have pockets. It has 3 sewn on patches (one 4” and 2 1.5” by 3”). Leaf quilting fabric with water resistant fabric make up this set. Straps will be added to fit the purchaser. This set can only be made as a vest. This is the last park set of several sets heading out to .with.buttercup for their upcoming Disney Trip! Each set is going to be for one of the parks. These have been so much fun to make. These are design to go on the one Tigris (guardian) panels and each has a matching patch tab! This set is going to Hollywood Studios. It has nods to the new Mickey and Mickey train ride, Toy Story, and Star Wars! As always if you wanted this set created for your team, breed type and pronouns are adjustable. These patches are completed on the black color fabric, and have accents of red and white.

These ghostie tabs didn’t make it for the holiday release with the craziness of 2023 for CAW (particularly for me, the owner) but were designed for a custom order and will be added to our ghost offerings! We will be adding them to a new option under our tabs, in which seasonal ghost and skeleton tabs will be offered year round. Because one season of ghosts and skeletons isn’t enough for me. we hope you love them and your new leash wrap!

SALE/CUSTOM CHANGES FOR THE NEW YEAR/FIRST QUARTER CAW ANNOUNCEMENTS

All our premade vests/capes/convertibles have been marked down for the holidays! These vests will go into the “vault” after 12/31 and will no longer be available. The sale price appears on the website and CAN be combined with our ambassadors codes! We would love for these sets to find a home for the holidays. See our story for ambassador codes.

Due to some personal life changes and some family obligations, I will not be taking any customs during the month of January and the month of February. I will be accepting custom orders through the end of the year, but will stop on Jan 1 for several months. If you want to get in order, now is the time. You have been warned 🤣

With the personal life changes as well as family obligations, there will continue to be Premades available during those months however, my existing custom orders will be my priority. I will still be around and sharing content it’s just going to look a bit different for a few months. I am always available to give quotes or answer questions.

This set was sold originally as a molded saddle vest. The purchaser reached out to me to see if I could alter it into a cape as they loved the original set but their dog has transitioned to being a primarily mobility dog for their handler. I said, I’ve never done it, but I’ll try! I am glad we gave it a shot and that this team will be able to continue to enjoy their piece.
