When dogs have digestive issues, you might think of giving them rice, but it’s not the best choice.

Rice lacks essential fiber and nutrients needed for recovery and carries risks like arsenic contamination, which can lead to serious health issues.

Rice is also high in carbohydrates, increasing the risk of diabetes—now affecting 1 in 300 dogs.

Nutritionally, rice offers little value, lacking in vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients crucial for a dog’s diet. Furthermore, substituting meat with rice in dog food reduces the intake of essential amino acids like taurine, necessary for their health.

Dogs have thrived for millennia on meats and specific plant materials, not on processed grains like rice.

Choosing alternatives that align with their natural dietary needs is crucial for their wellbeing. For more insights on why rice might not be the right choice for your dog.

🔴 Pomegranate is an intriguing fruit with a list of benefits.

You can give it to your dog in 🍓 fruit form or 💊 supplement form. Here's how it can help your dog:

* It's rich in antioxidants to slow aging and prevent cancer
* Supports heart and urinary health
* It's anti-inflammatory
* Supports brain health and can reduce signs of dementia
* Reduces joint pain
* Supports probiotic bacteria to fight infections
.. and it fights worms in dogs!

Like pineapple and papaya, pomegranate contains proteolytic enzymes that break down protein ... like worms.

Feed pomegranate alone or with other enzyme-rich foods before meals so they can work in the digestive tract and dissolve worms. Include high fiber foods in your dog's dinner ... like raw grated carrots or fennel. They don't digest so they'll pass through the system and pull out worms as waste.

👩‍⚕️ You can also work with a homeopath and use the homeopathic remedy Granatum to fight worms.

🤧 Your dog’s immune response can react to harmless substances like pollen, dust or certain foods.

This is because your dog’s immune system produces histamines. This is the body’s way of raising a warning flag that there’s a problem. Antihistamines can counteract the effects of histamine and slow the allergic reaction.

You’ll find these natural antihistamines above at health food stores.

Instead of reaching for medications like Benadryl, which you shouldn’t give to dogs, these foods are natural antihistamines that block histamines to bring down the itch. Start with a pinch or a few leaves and add more until you see it's helping.

✅ Anti-Histamine Foods
* Red and green bell peppers
* Oranges, grapefruit
* Kiwi
* Apples with skin
* Pineapple
* Broccoli, Brussels sprouts
* Strawberries
* Eggs
* Basil, oregano, thyme, dill, cilantro and parsley
* Garlic

✅ You can also include low histamine foods in your dog’s diet. These include:
* Blueberries, apricots, cranberries, mango, peaches.
* Asparagus, squash, cucumbers, beets.
* Eggs
* Fresh meat, poultry and fish

🚫 Avoid feeding these high histamine foods:
* Eggplant, avocado, tomatoes, olives, beans.
* Cheese, yogurt, processed cheese.
* Canned, smoked, dried meats/fish.
* Wheat flour
* Fermented foods including kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi
