The day we dread every year has finally come along. We removed the first tick of the season from one of our oldies last night. Meaning there are more on the way or likely already on some of the others. SA Basset Adoptions NPC 2017/457111/08 desperately needs help to cover them with tick and flea prevention before we have parasite related illnesses. Tick and flea prevention works out to R102 per dog per month. If you are able to help them cover even one oldie for a month we would be extremely grateful. Keeping them safe is a top priority for SABA as well as for us. We have also had our fill of tick bite fever in the last few years. We will happily take the brunt of it though if it means the Bassets in our care are safe and treated to not go through that horrible sickness. Please help if you are able to so we can keep them clean and healthy🙏

It's spring! That means spring cleaning! Please remember that any preloved items can be donated to our thrift shop. SABA is really trying to get this shop going and we really need 2nd hand items to sell. The funds are much needed for the ongoing care of the Bassets rescued. Times are hard and keeping up with bills is getting harder and harder. 🙏🙏

Instead of throwing away your unwanted items, why not donate them to help Bassets in need? We need resellable items to stock our thriftshop. All proceeds go to the Bassets. Any money made is used to cover food, boarding, vet bills, vaccinations, chips, deworming and all the other never-ending expenses that go with animals. It also helps towards the upkeep and care of the palliative Bassets that are not adoptable. Multiple drop off points are available. Our little visitor this morning. The dogs alerted us and it was utter chaos 😂 Between screaming like the girls we are and trying to keep the dogs from trying to end the poor soul's life it was quite the festive morning🙈
