We would like to thank everyone who offered support to Ying with love, donations, and kind words. Our hearts are full from the responses that we received.

We are very sad to report that our sweet boy crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this week, surrounded by his human friends and some of those who loved him the most. A probable brain tumor and raging infection were just too much to overcome. We thank both the team at Norwalk’s VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center, and previously A Cat's Place in Norwalk, for their incredible care. We are so grateful for everything they did.

Ying lived a long and full life; he and his brother, Yang, were adopted as kittens from Strays & Others 18 years ago. Then, when they needed a new home, when their family could no longer care for them at age 16, we gladly opened our doors back up to the senior duo. Ying and Yang quickly became the unofficial greeters of the shelter, being the first to welcome anyone who came through the door – always insisting on having their photos taken with new friends!

Ying is at peace and will be deeply missed by many including our dedicated and devoted volunteers, his other feline friends who await adoption, and most especially by his brother, Yang, to whom we are giving extra amounts of love this week.

Thank you again for sharing Ying’s story, making donations, and sending love. Your support allowed us to provide proper care for Ying until the very end.

We love you Ying 💕 you are forever in our hearts!

Please spread the word! Bella is STILL MISSING as of Aug 25, 2024, last seen in New Canaan, CT 06840 near the start of Waveny Park Disc Golf Course

Update: We are still searching for our beloved Bella.

She no longer has her leash and harness on and was spotted on Broad Brook Lane in Stamford.

Please keep and eye out for her and if you know anyone in the area, please spread the word that we're looking for her.

Lovely bunny looking for a new home. “Snoopy”- 4-yr-old female Lion-Lop mix, spayed and litter trained. No special needs, currently lives with 2 dogs and 1 cat. Had a male bunny companion, but he passed😢 Amenable and easy-going. Likes children.

Poor Floyd was found living under a shed in the bitter cold behind a rest stop on the Merritt Parkway in New Canaan. He has a bum ear and was named after a boxer with a bum ear! He came to us frightened, and extremely distrusting. But after a while he has settled down and is starting to enjoy his own space. He’s really cute, but he is distrustful of hands, and he still isn’t quite sure about my sneakers. Guess the jury is still out there. He needs a safe indoor space with someone who will just let him be and in time he will come around. He’s a good boy. Just had a rough start in life. Only 3 years old. Kennels are open Monday-Saturday 10-3:30 pm. Adoptions are still taking place BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, so we recommend coming to the kennels to view the animals only if you are planning to fill out an application. You MUST include proof of home ownership or notarized letter from your landlord WITH your application to be considered. Applications will be reviewed and pre-approved for a subsequent meet and greet/adoption appointment.
