Rescue dog feature Monday- meet Patience of @fitz.thedoberman Patience is a very loving girl who spends her days wrestling with her fur brother Fitz. She had no basic training when she was adopted and is building confidence everyday through her obedience training. Patience is best described as a complete live wire. She can be pretty nuts but also loves putting her head in her lap for a head scratch. A message from Patience’s new family: In regards to encouraging others I’d just say it’s not always easy but it is one of the most rewarding things giving a dog the life it deserves and helping them fulfil their potential. Rescue dog feature Monday- meet Maddie of @bordercollieblaidd Maddie is a rescue pup described as “quite literally the perfect dog”. She’s kind, loving, quiet and adores everyone. Maddie has been a life saver for her new owner who is a disabled wheelchair user with multiple mental illnesses. Maddie understands when they are in pain, or feeling low, and is even able to perform little tasks such as taking their socks off! She loves walks and car rides, enjoys her regular visits to the doggy spa and will destroy any plush toy with a squeaker. Maddie is also very clever and has learned many tricks, including “whisper”, which she is required to do when she gets cheese, or else she barks too loud out of excitement! A message from Maddie’s new family: Rescue dogs are the best - I knew she was mine the moment I saw her and we’ve been inseparable ever since. I strongly believe that there’s a rescue dog out there for most people (the only reason I have a breeder pup is due to assistance dog needs), and Maddie is definitely the perfect dog for me. Riley is a young rescue pup living with her senior fur sibling. Despite their age gap and the difference in their personalities, the two love to wrestle all day every day! Riley acts as the guard dog of the house, monitoring the outdoors from the front window. Her favourite activities include jumping on the trampoline, learning new tricks, and taking naps in front of the fireplace. A message from Riley’s new family: I think there is absolutely no reason not to adopt a rescue! All dogs deserve to be loved regardless of their breed or history, and there will be challenges with any dog. Riley was young when we got her but we had another rescue before her who was older and neglected and we enjoyed years of love from him, he was so amazing. Rescue dog feature Monday- meet Bleux of @goodboybleux Bleux was abandoned when he was only 4 months old, and his new family fell in love with him instantly when they saw his photo online. He is now living his best rescued life, being loved and spoiled. Bleux LOVES to chase anything and everything- he could chase cats and flies for hours! He is either full of energy and wanting to play, or wanting scratches and cuddles. Bleux is very affectionate and almost always looks like he’s smiling. A message from Bleux’s new family: One thing we would say to people thinking of getting a dog is that there are so many in shelters that have gone through so much in life, but are more than capable of giving love to people. Also, if you have been wanting a dog and have the space, money, and love to give to a dog, then DO IT! Even if you don’t have the money there are so many shelters that need fosters and cover the costs for medical care and food. Rescuing Bleux has changed our lives for the better and we can’t remember what life was like before him. There are a lot of misconceptions out there about “bullies” but Hank is here to clear them up. Hank is a happy boy and a big cuddler. He loves people and playing with his toys. Bessie still moves very fast for her age and has a funny personality. She loves to stick her bottom up in the air and then take off running! Rescue dog feature Monday- meet Bentley of @bentley.boy_shihtzu Bentley is the most wonderful, loving, and joyful dog ever. He unknowingly rescued his new family in the best way possible during a difficult and unpredictable time. Bentley provided his new family with so much love and laughter, and because he didn’t have any training, they all bonded over learning new things together. Some of his favourite things are squeaky balls, belly rubs, naps and treats! A message from Bentley’s new family: There are so many fur babies out there that are looking for their FURever home. Rescue dog feature Monday- meet Ernie of @ernie_thepupper Ernie was adopted from Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelter in January when he was 2 months old. He is such a smart pup and has a very sweet, loving, silly, and mischievous personality. Ernie’s favourite things in the world are his toys, ice cubes, his cat brother Tibbles, food, his biological/foster sister Taco, and his mommy and daddy. There is no such thing as a stranger to Ernie- animal or human, he loves everyone and everything! A message from Ernie’s new family: Ernie has become the light of our life and our best friend. We love Ernie with our whole heart. He is our baby and our everything. We are so incredibly lucky to call him our best friend, and couldn’t imagine life without him. Rescue dog feature Monday- meet Nina of @nodsfornina Nina is a total sweetheart but she’s also a little diva! She loves to cuddle, whether it’s with one of her fur siblings or one of her humans. Nina is also very playful, she just loves to throw her toys around and pounce on them! When she gets excited, she hops like a kangaroo. She’ll close her eyes, put her ears back, and smile even bigger than usual when her humans come home. Nina likes to sit on top of her fur siblings- she definitely lacks spacial awareness, but they don’t seem to mind! A message from Nina’s new family: We would like to let people know that despite her differences, Nina is beautiful. She is valuable, loved, and is not less because of her differences. Rescue dog feature Monday- meet Yeti of @yeti_the_spotted_rottie Yeti was rescued by Cribs for Canines in Waco Texas after being found abandoned in a ditch. Now he’s happy and living his best life with his forever family. Yeti has a rare condition called vitiligo making him look like a baby deer. His body doesn’t produce melanin which gives him white spots. Yeti is very friendly and is everyone’s best friend. He takes challenges head on, his greatest strength is his adaptability. Yeti may be a tripod, but he’s like any other dog.
