So today was our last day of doggy daycare! 🐶🐶🐶🐶
Ranger has thoroughly enjoyed spending his days with cheeky Charley, lovely Lily, and terrific Toby - the pool parties, tug-of-war, playing, chasing, and general mischief.

Thank you to my wonderful clients for such thoughtful gifts and words - we truly appreciate it. We will see you at Ranger's birthday party, as well as for some dog walking, in the near future!

Woofs and Kisses,
P x

**Please note, Three Wise Woofs is still running as a business and continuing to offer pet minding and dog walking services - it is only daycare that is being discontinued.**

Our beautiful boy Ranger is having surgery today, to remove a lump on his neck.

As such, there will be no doggy daycare today or tomorrow. Dog walking services will still be available (sans Ranger), and doggy daycare will be open again on Wednesday.

This week I had the pleasure of walking my favourite Staffy, Buster! 😍💕🐶Here's some highlights from our time together. I especially love the photo of the swamp wallaby watching us on our walk - Buster was oblivious! 😂 @ Camden, New South Wales, Australia

What a day!
My Fridays aren't usually quite as busy, but today I had all 5 of my weekly clients! So my partner and I loaded all 6 doggies into two cars (plus our toddler and his trike!) and headed to the dog park. The dogs were all exhausted and filthy afterwards, so it was a great success! Have a great weekend everyone. 🐶

Buying or receiving flowers on Mother's Day?

Be sure to avoid these varieties if the recipient has a cat, particularly any plants in the Lily family. Inhalation of a single pollen grain can be fatal to cats.

Thank you Inner City Strays for sharing.

Buying your mum some flowers or a plant this Mother’s Day?

Most cat lovers already know that the beautiful lily is highly toxic to cats. In fact all varieties of the lily family are toxic and cats can suffer fatal kidney failure just from biting into a lily leaf or petal, drinking water from the vase or walking past and just licking lily pollen from their fur or feet.

Did you know there are many other plants that can be harmful.
Here are a few.

So if your mother or mother in law has a cat please avoid these plant varieties.

~Wednesday's Wise Words~
This week's topic: Unsafe foods for dogs

Can my dog eat this?

A couple of weeks ago we discovered that our "golden child" dog, Ranger, had decided to eat leftover corn cobs. Horrified, we rushed him to the emergency vet in Homebush. After an examination, X-ray and $600 later, the vet advised us to keep a close eye on him and wait for the corn cobs to pass. Fortunately, he did eventually pass them, and there was no need for Ranger to undergo invasive surgery. This was, in part, due to him chewing the cobs into small pieces rather than whole, as well as him being a large dog. A lot of dogs aren't quite as lucky.

While most owners know the most common types of unsafe foods (chocolate, cooked bones, dried fruit, salty foods), there are many other foods that your pet shouldn't eat. Here are some really handy graphics to help you determine whether your pet should be eating that!

Feel free to save and share.

**Remember, if you are unsure about whether your pet can eat something, do not allow them to consume it until you have spoken to a veterinarian. This advice is not a substitute for veterinary advice.**

~Wednesday's Wise Words~

This week's topic: Missing Pets

A couple of weeks ago, I found this dog wandering around Middleton Grange. She had a collar, but no tag, and posts on community pages could not confirm the owner's details. Fortunately, local hero Andy Snook was able to scan her for a microchip and make contact with the owners, who collected Molly the following day. It's not always as easy as this to return a found pet, but it would have taken fewer people a lot less time and effort to return Molly if she had a tag on her collar.

Here are some tips to make it easier for you to be reunited with your pet if they do go missing:

- Make sure they have a collar and a tag, with their name and your contact number.
- Microchip them, register them with council, and keep their details up to date! You can update your address, contact details, and change your pet's status to "lost" via the PetRegistry website (https://www.petregistry.nsw.gov.au/ #/)
- Join lost and found pages on social media, as well as your local community group.
- Inform nearby vets, rescue groups and shelters of your missing pet and leave your contact details.
- Visit nearby pounds / shelters - animals can be incorrectly entered or identified when they are impounded, so it is essential that you visit
- Print posters and speak to your neighbours!
- If you have a Houdini pet (who get out even if your house is Fort Knox), consider getting a GPS tracking collar.

If you have any other handy tips, be sure to leave them in the comments below!

~Wednesday's Wise Words~

As someone who doesn't exactly hide their love and enthusiasm for animals, over the years I have gained a reputation as a bit of a crazy cat lady / dog whisperer. Whilst I am by no means an expert or in the business of giving advice*, I often get asked for my opinion or help with animals. This ranges from "what type of food do you give your dog?" to "Help! I've found a stray kitten!".

So, I've decided that I'll be posting little nuggets of wisdom every week — in the form of helpful tips, advice and information.

Wednesday's Wise Words will kick off tomorrow (on a Wednesday! What a coincidence).

Woofs and Kisses,
P x

Aaaaand we're back in to the full swing of things!
Due to school holidays and clients being away, we had a slightly quieter two weeks. Today we were back into our usual routine, minus one of our furry friends, Lily. It was a great day with the gang reunited. We hope you feel better soon Lily!

Happy Monday everyone!

This week I have the pleasure of walking Buster, more affectionately known as "Crazy Buster" by his family. He's definitely crazy - for licks and cuddles!
I'm so lucky that taking this love bug for walkies is part of my job - life is good!
