Congratulations to student, and her horse, Valinor Park Eminence (aka Harry) for attending their first competition together. Like every first comp, there were a lot of lessons learnt. I am very proud Kara and Harry achieved 4th place in the prelim 1.2. Very excited to see what’s to come in the future for this combination.

Gheerulla Performance Horses has a paddock coming available at Ridgewood on 25th Feb for full care agistment and lessons/training packages.
Facilities:
- Individual paddocks with shelters
- Automatic water troughs
- Professionally built 20m x 60m all-weather sand and fibre mix arena
- Feed room / tack shed
- Space to park your float if need
Agistment includes:
- Morning and afternoon feeding
- Daily paddock cleaning
- Safe individual paddocks with shelters
- Trainer/coach lives onsite and tends to horses
- Daily rugging (if required)
We have a farrier booked every 5 weeks and physio every 8 weeks to tend to horses. We can also order in hay on your behalf. Agistees are more than welcome to use their own farrier, physio and supply own hay etc. if they prefer.
We have a lovely group of people agisting at GPH, who are all very supportive of each others riding.
Training/Lessons:
Professional horse training and/or riding lessons are available with Carissa. Carissa is an EA accredited coach, FEI dressage rider and has a Bachelor of Equine Science from Charles Sturt University. Carissa has trained horses from breaking in to FEI level. Carissa also has many successful students, competing at all levels, from club days to CDI/national competitions.
Carissa offers a tailored training programme that best suits your goals with your horse.

Huge congratulations to .dressage for placing Novice Champion at NAGs awards night last night. A very well deserved award. It’s great to see Xanthe and Leo making their way up the levels.
And congratulations to .eventing for placing Reserve Prelim Champion with only a couple outings. Alivia is a lovely rider, always putting the wellbeing of her horse first and ensuring all the fundaments are well established.

A group of riders and horses from the GPH team did extremely well at the last competition this year at NAGs last weekend.
Congratulations to the following students and their dance partners:
Chelsey May (.may_equestrian ) on Le Flambeur for placing 1st with 71.3% in prep 1 and also scoring 77.2% in her first ever freestyle.
Alison Bernardin and Travis Park Callahan at her very first competition with her young warmblood scoring 69.6% in prep 1.
Cassidy Sullivan ( ) and Flinders Ranger placing 2nd and scoring 69% in prelim. As well as placing 1st and scoring 69.2% in novice.
Xanthe Smith (.dressage ) and Regency Leo scoring an impressive 76.6% in her novice freestyle.
All students very deserving of their achievements. I am privileged to be able to work with such amazing riders and horses that are so dedicated to their sport. Very proud coach!

Well done to .may_equestrian for her first time ever cantering in competition setting! Lawrie has a massive canter, and Chelsey has had to work very hard in rebalancing and riding the canter correctly. We have been working on it a heap at home and this weekend at NAGs protocol day we upped the pressure to canter in the comp ring!

This photo was taken on my worst day psychologically. It was taken the day after my second surgery which was for my kidney. I’d already undergone massive surgery on my bowel two days prior to the photo. The tube was then put down my nose into my stomach as no medication was able to control my nausea and vomiting. It was also the first time I was able to sit up out of bed after a week in hospital. I was really over it at this point.
But now I’ve just come out of my third surgery, again on my kidney, and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve still got appointments, scans and check ups over the next month or so to make sure everything travelling in the right direction.
The last 2 months have been nothing but traumatic. Through strength, determination and resilience, the human condition is able to withstand tremendous suffering with the loving support of people who truly care, thank you for holding me up when I was weak physically, emotionally and psychologically. My clients, my friends, thank you for walking beside me on this journey. We got this.

We have come full circle! Today Fleur competed for the first time after 12 months of rehab. After her accident New Years 21/22, we were hopeful of a full recovery however had a huge amount of work, pain, dedication, patience and tears to get through. Now we stand on the other side and Fleur was cleared to compete again! A huge thank you to @horseandriderphysiotherapy for always being there for Fleur during her recovery and making today possible. We attended the CDG day starting from the beginning in prelim. The nerves and excitement was intense during our first test, scoring 67.8% and placing 3rd. For the warm up of the second test, we found our groove again and it was like we never stopped riding. Having a great second test, scoring 72.3% and placing 1st. Now to put the last 12 months behind us and focus on training and heading back up the levels again. I would also like to congratulate my students who attended the competition as well. @x.dressage competed her mare, Western Rose (aka Mystery) for first time in preliminary. Over the last year, Mystery has relaxed more out at competitions and found her balance in the canter. A real credit to Xanthe for developing a lovely horse, working properly and enjoying it. Amelia Stewart had her first start at Novice on her pony, Roseglen Stormgirl (aka Stormy). Despite some small mistakes, she had beautiful moments and even scored an 8. Millie has trained Stormy from freshly broken in to competing novice within a year which is incredible to see for an 11yr old rider. @chelsey.may_equestrian had her first ever competition on her new young warmblood. The pair rode beautifully and show a lovely partnership already. Can’t wait to see how these two develop throughout the year. Mike Hughes rode two beautiful and consistent prelim tests on his quarter horse scoring 66% in both tests! It was awesome to be able to compete again along side my students. I find them all so inspiring. A huge thank you to @sunshinecoasts
7 months of Fleur’s progression! Since 1 January 2022, Fleur has been recovering from nerve damage in her left shoulder. It’s been an uphill battle with a lot of highs and lows. Two months ago, I lost my other horse who sustained similar injuries during the same New Years event. But I have been so fortunate that Fleur has been able to push through and is looking better each day. Today marked a huge milestone, being the first time I was able to get back into the saddle and walk my girl. Still baby steps to be made, but I feel a huge amount of relief to make it to this point with her. Onwards and upwards from here! I am so grateful to have Lynne Harrison from @horseandriderphysiotherapy who has held my hand and given me guidance over the last few months. I would have been lost without Lynne! And a huge thank you to everyone who has followed and supported Fleur and Santiago’s story. It has been an emotional year and feeling everyone’s support has made it possible for me to keep pushing through.

RIP Santiago “And we wept that one so lovely should have a life so brief” – William Cullen Bryant Santiago (age 18 month) was laid to rest this afternoon at 3pm. As some of you may know, Santi sustained severe nerve damage when New Year Eve fireworks were let off near his paddock. Despite my and the team’s best efforts to provide Santi with some quality of life, it evidently was not meant to be. I would like to thank my team consisting of Cooroora Vets, @horseandriderphysiotherapy - Lynne Harrison and @rebalancetherapy - Nikki Truscott who have worked very hard to try and give Santi a speedy recovery, and I cannot put into words how grateful I am for their time and commitment. I would also like to thank everyone for their support over the last few months with both Santiago and Fleur’s rehab. Santiago fought for a long time to try and recover despite the discomfort. He remained positive, warm and loving to the end. It is with a heavy heart we have said goodbye.
I’m incredibly lucky to do what I love. And even more so fortunate to be able to work with the most amazing people. I must thank every student, rider, owner and parent that I work along with in their equine journey. I love being apart of each journey, feeling the highs and lows, and seeing each triumph, big or small. All of it being possible because of our love and passion for our four-legged friends 🐴 Huge thank you to @sunshinecoastsaddlery for being the first place I turn to for my horse equipment and care products. My horse team has never look better!
