Dash – Black Male, 4 years, 75 lbs.

Never has a foster name been so well placed. Dash loves to run! This energetic sweetheart was abandoned in a grocery store parking lot, but Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno is giving him a second chance!

Profile:
- Energetic dog seeking active family
- No cats, please
- Suitable for older children (only because of his rambunctiousness)
- Gets along with big and small dogs
- Crate trained, doing much better on leash, sit and down

Background:
Dash was likely left alone in a backyard, leading to his escape. No surprise! Now, he's ready for a loving family to share his life!

- Dash came into rescue with some scaring/hair loss around his snout area. The vet speculated that it may have been a burn, or rubbing against something. It does not bother Dash at all.

Sansa – Yellow Female, 4 years, 75 lbs.

Tommy – Black Male X, 6 months, 50 lbs.

Meet Tommy, the ultimate bundle of joy! This 6-month-old black Labrador mix puppy is bursting with energy, curiosity, and affection.

Tommy is a sweet, rambunctious labrador mix puppy with a brave and inquisitive nature. He loves to play with all kinds of toys, but more than anything, Tommy loves to fetch. Tommy also loves to go on walks and has excellent leash manners. He would be amazing in just about any type of living arrangement, especially with energetic members who want to play with and exercise him.

Although Tommy is still a puppy, he is already both crate trained and house trained. He sleeps comfortably all night in his crate and he has not had any accidents in the house for weeks. He responds well to training and would do well with any kind of obedience training his forever family might want for him. There are no felines in the foster home so we do not know about cats.

Bernadette – Black Female, 10 months, 40 lbs.

Have you ever wanted all the classic labrador traits and personality in a smaller package? Meet Bernadette! This gorgeous girl is 10 months old and still very compact. But don't let her size fool you, she is all lab!

Bernadette is just waiting for that perfect adventure partner. She has it all: she is extremely adaptable and resilient. Despite being in a completely new place, Bernadette fit right into her foster home almost immediately. She is extremely affectionate and loves to cuddle and watch TV.

There is no need to worry about Bernadette with other animals. In her foster home, she has been around big dogs, small dogs, cats and even a pig! She was unfazed by all of them. Not only is she polite with cats and pigs, she is not particularly interested in them and will happily leave them unbothered. She can also hold her own quite well, despite her small size. Her foster brother is a grouchy husky and she comfortably puts him in his place.

Bernadette is the kind of dog that would be fantastic at whatever life her forever family might want for her. Her size would make her an ideal adventure buddy for hiking or backpacking. She is new to walking on a leash, but her manners are great! No pulling. Her foster mom can even walk her simultaneously with two other large dogs. She does well in her crate and is adjusting well to house training. If it is a cuddle buddy you are looking for, Bernadette is one of the best! Despite being a puppy, she is very happy to lay on the couch and binge watch Netflix. She truly is cut out to do it all!

Willow – Black Female, 7 years. 72 lbs.

Meet Willow, a 7-year-old gentle soul with a heart of gold! Don't let her age fool you - this sweet girl is still young at heart and full of life.

Willow is a dream companion: easy-going, lovable, calm, and playful. She adores:

Playing fetch (and actually bringing the ball back!)
Going for walks and car rides
Playing with other dogs
Chasing hose water (her absolute favorite game!)

This well-behaved beauty loves to cuddle and will give you the best of both worlds - playtime and snuggles!

Willow is housebroken, knows basic commands, and is a social girl. She'll alert you to visitors but don't worry, she's just excited to meet new friends!

After being surrendered due to her previous owner's illness, Willow's world was turned upside down. But she's rediscovered her sparkle with time, patience, and love from her foster family and canine companions! Thanks to the gentle guidance and support of her foster family and furry friends, Willow has blossomed into a confident, playful, and affectionate companion. Willow does have some allergies, but a simple allergy pill keeps her scratching and itchy ears under control. Other than that, she's in perfect health!

Betty - Black Female X, 3 Years, 57 lbs

Betty is a resilient and loving 3-year-old black Labrador mix. This sweet girl has overcome a tough past, and her transformation is truly inspiring. Found as a stray, Betty was in rough shape - malnourished and missing hair on her ears and body. Thankfully after a thorough veterinary exam, it was determined that there was nothing seriously wrong with her, but that it was due to poor nutrition and lack of care.

With proper care, love, and guidance from her fosters, Betty has blossomed into a fun-loving, eager-to-please young lady who has learned to trust.

Betty loves to run and play, do zoomies in the yard, and enjoy walks with her foster sibling. She's becoming more confident on a leash and gets along great with other dogs and people. This deserving girl is ready for her forever home, where she'll have space to run and play, but also snuggle up beside you. Russell – Black Male, 5 years, 65 lbs.

Talk about adding the perfect Lab to your family! Here I am, the ultimate family-friendly Labrador Retriever! At 5 years young, I've outgrown the mischievous puppy phase, and I'm now a perfect gentleman. No chewing, digging, or destructive behavior here!

I get along swimmingly with: other dogs, cats, chickens, livestock, and people of all ages. I'm a vigilant companion, and I'll alert you with a bark when I get excited or encounter new people. It's just my way of letting you know what's going on, and I promise I'll calm down once I get to know them!

As a well-behaved boy, I know a long list of commands, including: sit, stay, come, lay down, crate, no, leave it, wait, heel, and on your bed. I come when called, even when outside. I'm still perfecting my leash manners, as I can get excited to explore and pull a bit due to my energetic nature. However, with some practice and patience, I'll master walking by your side in no time! On the plus side, I'm fully house-trained and have excellent crate manners, happily retiring to my cozy crate at night.

I love car rides, swimming (lakes, oceans, you name it), morning zoomies, and snuggling! Fetch might not be my favorite game, but I do have a soft spot for retrieving sticks from the ocean. There's something about the thrill of bounding into the waves and emerging with my prize that really gets me excited!

What's not to love about this handsome boy? Bruno is a 1.5 to 2 year old black lab with stunning features. His long legs and muscular build suggest he might be part great dane, but his personality is all lab!

Do you have a ball that needs to be chased? Bruno is here to help! He loves to play ball and fetch. Although not perfect, his leash manners are very manageable. With practice and patience, he will do fantastic things!

Bruno came to his foster family abandoned and emaciated. Through a lot of love and care, he has grown into a happy, healthy boy. This dog friendly boy is quick to learn with a goofy personality, although he can be shy at first. Once he warms up to you, he is incredibly sweet. We do not know how he is with felines.

The sky is the limit for what this boy could learn if he is offered the proper training and opportunity. He is truly a blank slate waiting for the perfect forever family to give him the life he has always deserved.

Soleil – Yellow Female, 1.5 years, 60 lbs.

Meet Soleil, our radiant 1 ½-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever! Her name, inspired by the French word for "sun," truly suits her warm and cheerful nature. Bursting with playful puppy energy, yet exhibiting a surprisingly mellow demeanor for her age, Soleil is the perfect blend of lively and laid-back.

She’s a model of good behavior at night, happily snuggling into her crate and sleeping soundly until morning. But her absolute favorite time is cuddling with her humans, soaking up all the love and giving just as much in return. New Year, New Resolution?

Consider opening your heart and home to a Labrador in need! As we've taken in 209 dogs in 2024, we're reminded that many more are waiting for assistance. Fostering for our rescue literally saves lives!

We've got you covered:

- All medical fees are taken care of
- We provide a crate and supplies
- We provide a mentor to assist you every step of the way
- You provide time, commitment, and love

In times of overcrowding, every minute counts. As a foster parent, you'll help the most vulnerable dogs blossom in a safe environment. You'll offer hope!

Foster parents also help the dog adjust to a home environment. This may mean spending extra time helping the pup feel more comfortable around other pets and people, or learning basic skills like how to walk on a leash—basically anything to make sure the dog has the best chance of adoption.

What do you get in return? The knowledge that you've made a lifelong difference in the life of a dog and their family. Our dedicated team of volunteers will support you every step of the way.
