The Rescue team remains dedicated to supporting English Cockers in need, conducting much of this work with diligence and discretion. I would like to take this opportunity to remind our dedicated followers of the significance of vaccinations and preventative health measures. This year, one of our rescues is a heartworm-positive, field-bred female who previously lived as a farm dog.

She is currently progressing well through her treatment protocol; at Day 61 she had received her scheduled injections and required a month of crate rest to mitigate the risk of pulmonary embolism during this phase, which may result from excessive physical activity. Field breds are usually happy and energetic souls so the crate rest is a hard thing for her but also for any dog. The article from the American Heartworm Society detailing the comprehensive year-long treatment plan.

Please consider even as we move into fall that taking a moment and giving a simple monthly chewable tablet could have prevented the situation affecting one of our rescues. This situation not unique to this single dog or our breed but but also by other rescue organizations as well.

Amber is a sweet, slightly shy 8-year-old girl looking for a loving home. She thrives with other dogs to play with and enjoys being close to her humans. While she’s fine with cats, she hasn’t been around young children, so a home with older kids would be best.

Amber is **spayed**, **up to date on all vaccines**, and ready to start her next chapter!

📍 Located in **Eau Claire, Wisconsin**
🏡 We ask that potential adopters live within **500 miles** or are able to travel to meet her. (Please note: our rescue does not fly dogs.)

Meet Summer!

She is a very sweet girl who gets along with other dogs well. She is a little shy but once she warms up to you then she full of cuddles and sweetness. She can be in a multiple or single dog household and really just wants to cuddle on a couch with her person.

She is located in Northern WI and will be available by Memorial Day weekend for her forever home. Transportation outside of a 400 mile radius from northern WI will need to be worked out between the adopter and Recue.

This handsome 3.5 -year-old red English Cocker Spaniel is ready to find his forever home. Howie is a loyal and affectionate companion who loves being close to his people—whether that’s lounging at home or enjoying walks around the neighborhood. While he can be a bit shy with new experiences, he’s a gentle soul who takes everything in stride with quiet courage.

Howie would thrive in a calm home where someone is around most of the day, or with a friendly dog to keep him company. With a little encouragement and a lot of love, Howie will blossom into a devoted best friend.
