Cyndi Zacko and her small team of volunteers work relentlessly to rescue cats in need from these shelters, raising money for their vetting, pulling them from the shelters and transporting them to prospective fosters, adopters and rescues to the Los Angeles Area. Carson Cats is also highly involved in making these cats HEALTHY for the rescues to take and find homes for because most of the animals t
hat come from these shelters are exposed to terrible viruses or are surrendered to the shelter in terrible shape due to abuse and neglect.

URGENT!!! LIFE SAVING SURGERY NEEDED for HOLLYFIELD!!
Hollyfield's ureter is Blocked and he needs a Subcutaneous Ureteral Bypass (SUB) procedure. Unfortunately, it is a very specialized and expensive surgery and we must raise $12,000 as he is now in an emergency situation.

Last month, we reached out for your support to diagnose the cause of Hollyfield's blood in his urine since we rescued him in January. Thanks to your generous contributions, Hollyfield was able to get an ultrasound and a CT scan to confirm that he has a ureteral obstruction due to mineralized content with a possible blood clot in his bladder.
The only way to unblock Hollyfield is to perform a Subcutaneous Ureteral Bypass (SUB) procedure. This is a highly specialized surgery and not all hospitals can do it. Our vet has worked with us on the cost, reducing the typical $18,000 expense to $12,000, which covers both the surgery and two days of post-op care.
We were initially given some time to explore options and have put Hollyfield on medication to extend that period. However, this morning, our foster reported that Hollyfield is now straining to urinate and has unfortunately stopped producing urine altogether.
We are now at a critical juncture: we must either raise the necessary funds for this life-saving surgery or face the heartbreaking decision of euthanasia. We are committed to fighting for Hollyfield and giving him the best chance after all he has endured.
We urgently need your help to spread the word and raise immediate funds. We understand this is a significant request, but Hollyfield is deeply loved by our volunteers and his foster, and he is a cherished member of our rescue family.

We recently rescued this sweet 2 year old boy from the Carson Shelter. He is blind and deaf. He's exceptionally sweet and gets along with other cats.

$500 needed to pull and vet Mr. Rogers who is at the Carson Animal Shelter!!

The shelter put out a medical plea for Mr. Rogers on Friday for rescue. He came in as a stray and was severely emaciated and dehydrated with a laceration on his leg. The shelter is not able to give him the vetting and diagnosis he needs and reached out for help. They estimate him to be around 10 years old.
Mr. Rogers will initially need senior bloodwork, fluids and x-rays so we can rule out kidney disease, cancer and and dental issues.

LOOK WHO IS UP AND WALKING!!!! GO CACHANT GO!!! Please help us raise more funds for this fighter's continued care! Please go to www.carsoncats.com/donate We pulled CACHANT last Tuesday after the shelter alerted us that he was set to be euthanized due to a severe URI and not eating for 3 days...Well upon rescuing him, we read in the medical notes that it was not 3 days but 7 days of not eating!!! And Cachant's demise happened right after the shelter sedated him to check the wound on his head. Our veterinarian was quite surprised at the drug the shelter vet used to sedate Cachant because it is known to be very unpredictable and rarely used because of that. It seemed like after Cachant's was sedated, he stopped eating, lost 2 lbs within a week, went into renal failure and developed severe ulcers in his mouth. When our vet took his blood on intake she said it was "very very bad. Kidney values too high to read, White Blood cells are over 34 thousand indicating a bad infection and he has a heart murmur. Humane euthanasia is the most logical option." Our vet (knowing our rescue so well) knew that we just were not going to give up without trying. We opted to hospitalize and throw the kitchen sink at him. Cachant did not move the first night but by the next morning he was able to lift his head. By the 4th day of IV fluids, although still not eating, he had the strength to walk (see video). And today he ate for the first time!! Cachant still has a ways to go, but it's a miracle to see him walking!!! We are in awe of his fighter spirit. We are in need to raise more funds to keep him hospitalized this week and give him that 9th live. We need to raise at least another $2200 for his care.
