Carson Cats Rescue Carson Cats is a cat rescue dedicated to rescuing cats & kittens from 6 Los Angeles County shelters.
(52)

Cyndi Zacko and her small team of volunteers work relentlessly to rescue cats in need from these shelters, raising money for their vetting, pulling them from the shelters and transporting them to prospective fosters, adopters and rescues to the Los Angeles Area. Carson Cats is also highly involved in making these cats HEALTHY for the rescues to take and find homes for because most of the animals t

hat come from these shelters are exposed to terrible viruses or are surrendered to the shelter in terrible shape due to abuse and neglect.

URGENT PLEA: 3 SWEET SENIOR CATS NEED YOUR HELP THIS WEEKEND! Funds and Fosters needed!

These three loving senior cats at Carson Animal Care Center are in desperate need of rescue. They've been waiting nearly a month for rescue, but have been passed over and they are now on their second notification from the shelter to be rescued (or they will be euthanized for time and space).

Princessa, Smokey and Whiskers! These gentle souls—each affectionate, sweet, and deserving—don’t deserve to end their lives in a shelter. They deserve soft beds, kind words, and the chance to live out their golden years surrounded by love.

We’re running out of time—here’s how you can help:

🐾 FOSTERS URGENTLY NEEDED: Can you open your home to one of these deserving souls? A temporary safe haven could save their lives. Fill out our foster application today: www.carsoncats.com/foster.

💸 DONATE TO SAVE THEM: Pull fees and vital vet care, including senior bloodwork, cost around $250 per cat. Every dollar makes a difference. Donate now: www.carsoncats.com/donate.

They’ve been waiting for nearly a month—don’t let their story end in heartbreak. Even if you can’t foster, your donation or share could be the lifeline they need.

🙏 This is their last chance. Please help us save them.

When we first met Mambo at the shelter, he was withdrawn and nervous. His eyes were mostly shut, and he kept his distance. The shelter thought he was feral and had him scheduled to be euthanized. But one of our amazing volunteers saw something else. She spent time with him, spoke to him gently, and before long, he started to relax, giving her soft meows and even nudging her hand. Underneath that shyness was a sweet, gentle soul just waiting for a chance.

We rescued Mambo last week and it turns out, he wasn’t shy by nature—his eyes were just causing him constant pain. He has entropion, a condition where his eyelids roll inward, making his fur and lashes rub against his eyes with every blink. It’s like having something stuck in your eye all the time. He’s been closing his eyes most of the day because of the discomfort, and we’ve been giving him eye drops to try to ease his pain. But what he really needs is surgery to fix this.

Mambo urgently needs surgery to correct his entropion and relieve his pain. During this procedure, the oncologist will carefully adjust his eyelids so they no longer turn inward. This will eliminate the constant irritation and allow him to see the world comfortably again.

How You Can Help
We are seeking urgent donations to cover his surgery costs. The estimate is $2900 and every dollar we can raise, will help bring this sweet, affectionate cat closer to the pain-free life he deserves.

With your support, he can finally open his eyes without pain, see the world clearly, and continue sharing his gentle, loving spirit with everyone he meets. Please help us give him the future he deserves.

Additionally, Mambo needs a foster home pre and post-surgery where he can recover and experience the love he’s been missing for so long. If you have room in your heart and home, please consider fostering him and go to www.carsoncats.com/foster

Toby’s Fight Continues though as he has become antibiotic-resistant due to all his UTIs - Please Help Us Raise $5,500 for surgery to keep him SAFE!

Please go to the link in bio to donate or www.carsoncats.com/donate
Our Venmo is .

Thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the outpouring of support for Toby during his recent severe kidney infection. Thanks to your kindness, Toby made it through a life-threatening battle with sepsis, and we’re so grateful to still have our sweet boy with us. But unfortunately, Toby’s fight isn’t over.

As many of you know, Toby is paralyzed and relies on us to express his bladder multiple times a day. This makes him prone to urinary tract infections (UTIs), and after his recent struggle, our vet has shared a serious concern: Toby is becoming antibiotic-resistant. His chance of surviving another bout of sepsis is low without additional medical intervention.

To give Toby the best chance at a healthy, infection-free life, his specialist has recommended a permanent cystotomy tube placement. This procedure will allow his bladder to drain effectively, reducing the risk of future UTIs and potentially saving his life. While it’s a necessary step to protect Toby from further infections, the surgery and follow-up care cost $5,500.

We’re reaching out once again to ask for your help in funding this life-saving procedure for Toby. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a world of difference. If you can’t donate, simply sharing Toby’s story can help us reach others who may be able to contribute.

Thank you for being part of Toby’s journey and for giving him the chance to live the happy life he deserves.

Toby Needs $4,500 for Life-Saving Treatment – Help Us Save Him!

Please go link in bio or www.carsoncats.com/donate to help!!!

We’re reaching out with an urgent plea to help save our sweet boy, Toby. We rescued Toby 4 years ago when he came to us as a kitten, paralyzed from the waist down (we think he was hit by a car). Toby has already been through so much with his paralysis, and now he’s facing something even more serious—a severe kidney infection that’s turning into sepsis.

Because Toby is paralyzed, he can’t empty his bladder on his own. We have to express it for him 2-3 times a day, which makes him prone to urinary tract infections (UTIs). Sadly, UTIs are pretty common for cats in his condition. And if a UTI isn’t caught early, it can spread to the kidneys, which is exactly what happened here.

Now, his kidney infection is life-threatening, and sepsis—a dangerous infection spreading throughout his body—is starting to take hold. Our vet is doing everything possible to help him, but he needs intensive care and specialized treatment to have a fighting chance.

Toby needs to be hospitalized immediately so internal medicine specialists can run essential diagnostics, including an ultrasound and bloodwork, to guide his treatment plan. He will also need close monitoring for 3-5 days. The estimated cost for his care is between $4,500 and $6,000.

Please help us raise the necessary funds for Toby—any donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and is tax-deductible through our 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

PLEASE READ MY STORY

Hi, I’m Sourpatch

I was confiscated from a hoarder situation where I was living with 60 other cats that were far from cared for. I then found myself in a huge legal battle and was trapped at the shelter in a cage for over a year and a half. When I was finally able to be released to a rescue, Carson Cats took me into their care, and treated me for severe stomatitis, ringworm and years of neglect (to say I was in a rough shape is an understatement).

The name Sourpatch was given to me at the vet during my care. I came in pretty sour, understandably so, but after finally being cared for and treated with kindness for the first time in my life, I blossomed into the sweetest loving cat.

You wouldn’t believe my personality despite all I’ve been through: I am very playful, I love to sleep on a warm lap, and I’m very curious. I get along very well with other cats, or can also be the only cat in the home. To be honest, I’ve just been through a lot and just want a loving family to call my own.

If you are interested in being my forever home, or even fostering me so I can be in a home, please DM Carson Cats Rescue, or email [email protected]

COME MEET BIG BLUE! Looking for an ADOPTER OR FOSTER!!!!

EL SEGUNDO PETSMART
730 S Sepulveda Blvd,
El Segundo, CA 90245

Every Saturday or Sunday , 12:00 pm -4:00pm
or by appt email [email protected]

Sweet 2 year old Big Blue has been with us since April 6th, when he was dumped at the Petsmart parking lot in an undersized cloth carrier with a big wound on his neck. The Petsmart was going to call Animal Control to take him but we took him in to give him the best chance. He went to our vet where they cared for his wound and then we got him neutered, etc.

Big Blue is currently been at the El Segundo Petsmart. He is such a DOLL and LOVES other cats - he is kitten-like and loves to play and wrestle with all the cats in the cat center. He has been in a cage for for nearly 5 months as we have not been able to find a foster for him and we are baffled why no one has adopted him yet. He is the BEST boy - loveable like a dog, funny, and would love to be in a HOME with another cat or kitten.

Please come meet Big Blue TODAY at the EL Segundo Petsmart from 1-4. He is actually there every day and every Saturday and Sunday we have adoptions 12-4pm and you can stop by any time and talk to one of our adoption representatives to meet Big Blue or have any questions!

You can also complete our adoption questionnaire or foster form online (link in bio or see below):
