It's bath day here - 5 dogs to get in the tub and Cheers was 1st one in - and out 😂

We talked about baby dogs and a boyfriend- for her. She loved her 1st babies so much - we can't wait to see what she produces in her next litter 🥰

Please Understand This - RARE isn't Purebred.
If you are interested in only a Liver/White with Tan Points or a Black/White with Tan Points - we can direct you to a few Preservation Breeders that do everything right that can provide you with a well-bred puppy!
But at the end of the day - colour should be the last thing you are considering when getting a well-bred puppy ;)

This is a public service announcement to anyone interested in acquiring an English Springer Spaniel. The two puppies pictured here are the ONLY two colors that purebred English Springer spaniels come in. Black and white. Liver and white. With or without ticking or roaning. With or without tan points (tricolor).

There are currently people all over the country producing dogs in such colors as red, orange, lemon, sable, blue, and even Merle and claiming that they are purebred English Springer spaniels. Please do not be duped by these ‘Greeders’. They are producing these crossbred dogs for profit only. Regardless that they might claim that the dogs are AKC registered, the fact is that the registrations are falsified. It is not possible for purebred Springers to exist in these off colors. Those crossbred dogs are NOT DNA tested for breed purity despite the fact that the people selling them will make false claims that they are ‘tested’. They won’t say exactly what they are ‘tested’ for nor will they provide any acceptable proof of breed purity. They cannot, because they have used hounds, setters, other spaniels, etc to get what they are marketing. They also do not do any health testing on their breeding animals. They are churning out puppies for profit only!

If you are thinking of getting an English Springer spaniel, please do your research. Talk to long time preservation breeders who are devoted to the breed and committed to maintaining it for the future. Go to the Parent Club website www.ESSFTA.org. Go to AKC and look for Breeders of Merit. Help us keep our breed pure to the breed standard . Whatever you are looking for, show dog, performance dog, hunting dog, family companion, we, the protectors and preservers of the breed will help you find the dog that is perfect for your situation.

Markings in this breed don’t matter. COLOR matters! Liver or black only!

Carl attended his second dog show this past weekend. No class competition but some great exposure for Carl who certainly loves it and some fabulous exposure for the breed as people are often surprised with how calm my dogs are.
They're not obnoxious like so many inexperienced people often think!

English Springer Spaniels require daily exercise.
My job provides me the ability to work in the am so that I can spend my afternoons with the dogs.
In providing daily exercise for your dog, they're able to settle easier and maintain better house mannerisms for you!

How handsome is Daniel the Spaniel !?

Our website can be a bit deceiving to people - I think people expect to come to our home to see a bunch of dogs in full, lush coat. But that's just not the case any longer.

Since we've moved, we have found several ticks on the dogs. Lyme disease is prevalent in our area and the risk of not finding a tick in time has made us decide to err on the side of caution and trim the dogs down to a manageable length making it easier to maintain and find those nasty little critters.

So for now, Carl and Gary are our only boys in full coat. And boy are we soaking up the time with manageable hair too until they grow their big boy coat!

p.s. we think Daniel is adorbs with his shorter ears. Maybe that's also why we have interest in the Welsh Spaniels too 🤪

FOUR WEEKS!
We can't believe how quickly a
Month has flown by!!
Up and running now - individual personalities have begun to develop. We're not getting much done around here now as the puppies soak up most of our attention 🥰
We have had family and some close friends come to meet the babies.
They're now eating soaked kibble and are great little eaters.
They will venture outside this weekend pending weather doesn't become an issue.
More adventures await - stay tuned!

Carl and I went for a walk on a trail yesterday that happened to go past a dog park. As we walked closer to the dog park I had noted that 2 of the 3 dogs were quite dominant and the thought in my head immediately went to a the 2 dogs getting into a fight at some point as they showed every sign possible that they were testing their bounds.
Well, Carl and I walk past, with all 3 curious dogs at the fence as we walk by offering snarls. As we continue to walk, the 2 dogs I anticipated would get into a fight did just that. The dogs fighting, owners screaming - all I could do was stifle a little chuckle because quite frankly, dog parks are a recipe for disaster and people keep feeding this need to go to them.
So they get these 2 dogs apart - and then they both STAY and continue to let them "socialize".
Any dog placed into a home from us CANNOT attend dog parks. It is in our Contractual Agreement as too many issues arise and we want our families to set their puppy/dog up for success and rather not failure by submitting their pet to situations that can fail them and ultimately cause them significant damage or potential death.

The days are getting longer and we're soaking it up!
I found out Carl is a natural retriever when I couldn't get him far enough away to get my favourite type of photos of him - a quick toss of a ball and away he went - and returned right to hand!
An impressive little man!
