💦 D R I N K I N G 💦

Cats typically drink about 3.5 to 4.5 ounces (100 - 125g) of water per 5 pounds (2.3kg) of body weight daily.

While some cats are content with the average bowl of water, other prefer moving water from taps or specially made cat water fountains. Other cats enjoy “found water”, so placing cups and glasses of water around your home will encourage them to drink from their discovered sources of water.

Today is Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, and with many rescue and shelter cats making up our Team Moggie Cats, we encourage you to adopt, not shop, when you decide to add to your fur family.

If you can't adopt right now, there are plenty of ways to support shelter cats. You can donate food or money, volunteer with a rescue charity to foster, fundraise, clean out or socialise with the cats. You can also help with administration, transport, or trapping. There are lots of roles that help stray, abandoned and feral cats find their paws again.

Show some love to the rescues that support cats worldwide!

DRINKING 💦 Cats have a unique and efficient way of drinking water. Unlike dogs, which use their tongues to scoop water, cats drink by rapidly dipping their tongue into the water and then quickly pulling it back up.
