Timber has had quite an exciting last two weeks!
For week 5 and 6, he got his teeth done, feet done, and was introduced to some buddies and has made friends! Is now sitting just under a bcs of 4.0. We are so excited for the next two weeks as we start gearing up for the beginnings of body work and then training once he is cleared.

Well today was definitely one of those days... you know... the days where the horses act like they've been consuming nothing but copious amounts of caffeine for days and finally let out their pent up energy? Yeah... one of those days... Heaven help our souls and the poor kids that ride said horses 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ you know it's a rough day when the best lesson out of 5 was the usually spicy, 12 hand Welsh that somehow ranked best behaved horse of the day 🙄🤯🤦‍♀️

One week update!

Our new guy has officially been named Timber! He has been settling in well and demands attention from all who pass him by. He has gained 5 lbs this week, and is almost back to proper hydration levels.
Our fun this week has been trying to get him out to stretch his legs on the 3 warmer days we had and keep him from going stir crazy locked in a stall without him over-exerting himself. And then the joys of treating rainrot in the winter. He's slowly becoming less jumpy and looks forward to our (every two hour) visits.

He clearly loves his warm hay cube mash filled with supplements to support detox, blood sugar balance, gut health and immune system! All created specially by Whisper's Equine Wellness.

This sweet guy came to us on the coldest week of the year as an unexpected surrender. At a body condition score of 2.5 (needing to gain close to 150 lbs)
In a rough series of events, the farm owner passed and the horse owner could no longer care for the horse.
This guy is desperately in need of farrier, body work, chiropractic, blood work, vaccines, deworming, supplements, dental work and special feed (due to excessive wood chewing grinding his teeth down way faster than they should be) to bounce back to health. Approximately 15 years old. Sweetest personality, a true gentleman, very weak physically but has a strong heart.
He has been alone without a pasture mate for over 10 years and shakes nervously any time he encounters a new situation.
Due to the unexpected nature of this situation and the 12 hour notice we were given, we are giving the opportunity for the first time for others to be involved in his recovery as sponsors.

Days are never dull out here. After a very long, cold day we had an unexpected surrender situation. Sweet gelding, approximately mid to late teens. Name to be determined. He reminds us all of our old beloved Justie. He has a lot of rehabilitation needed but we look forward to getting to know our newest member and helping him along to a happy, healthy, life.

We are officially on the search! Our expansion plans will be beginning soon and that will require our next set of school horses. Looking for something sound, young if possible but willing to look at late teens if the perfect match. Ages 4-19. Mare or Gelding. Must have a good personality but Green and needing work is fine! Bonus points for rescues!! Height 14HH - 17.2 HH. Low thousands budget low due to needing multiple horses and time to get them turned into the perfect school horses.
