Japan Cat Network International is a registered NPO that helps people help pets.

We provide advice, support, materials and other information so that people can assist animals in need within their own community. JCN has helped to start hundreds of trap-neuter and return / rescue efforts throughout Japan. JCN runs two small no-kill shelters; one of which serves as a rescue base in response to the Tohoku disaster. We are committed to educating the public on the benefits of spay-n

euter and we strongly support the no-kill movement. JCN has been featured internationally and on Animal Planet’s Must Love Cats program. Dozens of articles and reports have been produced about JCN’s efforts. Please think of Ash tonight as we try to find what’s wrong and he struggles to breathe. He went to a vet in Kyoto for extensive testing and fluid drain, today, and is now headed to our vet in Tokyo. Ash stays in our shy cat area, along with his sister Maple. It’s hard when very unsocial cats become ill, because they work extra hard to hide symptoms, often until the situation becomes urgent. It is also stressful getting them into a carrier, making a bad situation worse. Ash had to go to the vet in a trap today. We are hoping for the best, and asking for kind thoughts, as well as support with medical costs from those able to help.❤️

Due to a young child in home with serious allergies, these two kitties need to find a new home as soon as possible. JCN will plan to bring the cats into our program, carrying out the screening/follow up process using a JCN contract. However, we would all prefer that the kitties transfer directly into a home rather than first come to shelter.
