The veterinarian key role
1. Provide a health certificate confirming the pet’s eligibility to travel.
2. Ensuring the pet vaccinated against any required diseases.
3. Advising on any necessary, treatment or precautions before travel.
Owners had to pay huge fines and fees due to veterinarian not providing all the necessary information on a health certificate.
 Example England is extremely strict, owners may pay from 800 to 1200 pounds,  additional fees if a veterinarian is called or if the pet is quarantined.  In Many cases the vets filled out the forms as it stated, but not aware of how it is to be filled out.
Keep in mind the airlines have their requirements that the vets are not going to be aware of.
 I have seen owners pay for extremely expensive tests that the vets thought was required for the country. They were importing, but it was not.  I am constantly arguing with Vet abroad when Importing dogs into Trinidad because they will insist a certain test is done when it is not necessary.
It is up to the owner or the Import/ exported hired  responsibility to know what is required for importing a pet.
Each country have their own requirement. Countries are constantly making changes.  example Barbados no longer require two expensive test to be done for dogs coming from Trinidad.  I was looking for a lab to get those tests done and thought it was best that I contact Barbados to see if it was still required.
United States changed the requirements last year .
When hiring an exporter, please make sure that person has exported pets to that country in which the pet is going or at least have an importer on the other side who is also very informative.  Just because they have ship pets to one country does not mean that they are aware of all the requirements for another.
Due to errors owners make not listening to me properly. I do not answer questions over the telephone. I do not want any pet suffer unneccesarily and if things are not done properly it can be deterimental.
This is service I provide to pay for my own rescues, which is costly.
