Catch up post from the last week. Duke and Maisie are both doing well with training. Duke is stepping into bigger distraction work as his skill is improving (his walks have come so far)! And Maisie is learning that she doesn’t need to go 100mph in order to have a good time and earn some treats. And we had our normal socializing group this week, along with Deedee here for boarding. Deedee’s personal goal is always to interrupt Luke’s sunbathing for mandatory play time, and she always succeeds!

Duke arrived with a bit of a head start after working with Kris so he’s off and running with his obedience work! He joined me in Roseville this afternoon and worked in a new environment and got some solid romps in at the park, along with extra cuddles from the kid.

We’re having fun today! Maisie is getting all settled in and meeting some of the crew. Duke dove into training very nicely and his walk is already improving. Happy Wednesday! Getting back into our normal schedule now that the holidays have passed. We’ve got B&T alumni Skyler with us for a boarding over the next couple weeks. Josie had her social day yesterday and opted for lots of time in front of the fire place because of all that wind! And I got to see my private lesson buddy Daisy for her next lesson. She’s a little work horse and really enjoys learning new things.

Leo joined me for a day train and has been working on his leash skills all day! His primary issue is that he gets SO happy when he’s on a walk with the whole family, and when his kids are excited he does his best to match their energy. We reviewed a lot of the engagement work he’s done, switched up his tools, and then got to work with my kids and Joy as the distraction. He’s doing really well, and with continued practice his family walks are going to be a dream!!

Work, work, work! I’m having a ton of fun with this group. The doodle boys have decided that it’s not so bad when I ask them to do things and are making big jumps with their impulse control and obedience work. Also, the Gertie girl joined us for boarding this week and is having a ton of fun with the Clooney boy. Also included is a goofy Josie photo from this week. 🤪

Sound on 🔊 Oh Clooney! The Clooney boy is A LOT in the social yard. I have to be very selective with his play group. He’s rough, excitable, and doesn’t back off when most dogs tell him to. But he’s been working with me and my pack for a long time now and has a solid group of friends, as well as a short hand with me. “Make good choices” is not something I’d say to most dogs, and is definitely not intended to be a true command here since I know he’ll respect Josie’s boundaries. But the way he actually relaxes when I say made my day!!
