The Forever Dog - "Pomegranate has been shown to help protect cells and, especially, the heart. Cardiac diseases are considered to be
the second-­ most-­ prevalent cause of death for dogs. Valvular endocardiosis and dilated cardiomyopathy are the most common of these and are known to be more prevalent in aged dogs.

Oxidative damage leading to cell death may constitute one of the most proximal of the cascade of events that results in heart failure. In a study published in the Journal of Applied Research in Veterinary Medicine, scientists found that feeding pomegranate extract to a dog has incredible protective heart and health benefits.

Pomegranates also contain molecules called “elligantans,” which our gut microbes convert to urolithin A. Urolithin A has been shown to regenerate mitochondria in worms­ increasing their life span by more than 45 percent. These encouraging results prompted scientists to test their findings in rodents, and the effects proved similar. Older mice showed signs of increased mitophagy (self-destruction of damaged mitochondria) and demonstrated better running endurance compared to the control group.

You’d be surprised how many dogs will eat these tart, crunchy little jewels mixed in with their food, about a teaspoon for every ten pounds."

Another year, another new recipe, this time with an additional Offal Free option coming out (later this week).

Our Santa Paws should also be live later this week, or early next week so keep your eyes peeled for those.

One angry business owner 😡

This is now the second time, in two weeks, DPD haven’t collected all our boxes. Despite being pre warned there was a lot to go and to send another van. We are currently looking into alternative couriers.

We are so sorry if you are due a delivery today and it’s not coming… we will get these boxes in the freezer asap and resend later today.

We will be packing orders that come in up until midday on FRIDAY and they will be dispatched on Monday.

Anything Friday AFTER midday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday will be dispatched on TUESDAY 1st October.

Not the usual post for Betsys Raw Food, but I love to show appreciation especially for other likeminded, independent companies.

Autec have really supported Betsy’s through their recent move and supplying machinery for various work needed to be complete at the new site.

Shout out to them 👏🏻

So if you’re looking for training, certificates etc from manual handling, to forklift licences, to digger and dumpers… you name it they can probably train you on it! Nationwide too.

In 48 days I will be hopping onto an aeroplane for the first time in TEN YEARS.

I will be away for two weeks, from the 14th October to the 28th October and will be back on the 29th.

The team we have in place are AWESOME but please bear with them during this time as they are all fairly new and haven’t had the duration at Betsy’s to be able to experience or deal with every query, issue, hiccup we’ve had.

BUT I know they are eager, willing and passionate, so they’re going to be absolutely fine without Miss Boss Lady 💪🏻

I just wanted to make you all aware so you understand when the time comes 🤗❤️

Look what we have !! A LANDLINE 🤣😍

Yes, we’ve gone a little old school, but the Betsy’s mobile was so unreliable and the signal here is terrible. So we’ve upgraded and have a flashy new landline. Voicemail and everything (I know right!)
