Ouch! Make sure to be cautious on walks in the summer— according to the American Kennel Club, if the temperature is 85 degrees or over without the chance for the pavement to cool down, the ground may be too hot for safely walking a dog.

Try to limit your walks to early mornings, grassy areas, or shady spots.

In October 2022, the coast of Florida was hit hard by Hurrican Ian, leaving hundreds of families and their pets without food or shelter. GENUINE coordinated with the Humane Society in Naples, Florida to donate 825 bags of food to Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, Desoto and Highlands County residents via partner shelters, the Red Cross emergency shelters housing pets, and Meals on Wheels Plus.
